As a thunderstorm rolled in last year, I was forced to break my photography adventure at this amazing place in the Dolomites. But as the landscape is so spectacular, I simply had to return. This time the weather conditions were fantastic. Combined with the epic mountains of the Dolomites I felt like in heaven.

Hi Warrick, thank you so much, my friend. This means a lot 🙂There are even more possibilities up there for really strong images. I'm thinking already about hiking up there once more in future 🙂 Nice greetings from the mountains, Christian

Hi Guido, I can highly recomment to photograph in the Dolomites. I really don't have words for this spectacular area 🙂 Just the weather can be tricky. Last year it was a bit easier. But the longer I'm here, the more I understand it. The important thing is just not to risk. When it seems that a thunder cloud gets built, return anywhere where it is save. Have a great Sunday, Christian

I agree the process of setting up and finding a photograph is indeed a fun part of the photo process. Nicely described and ideas wonderfully illustrated!

Hi Erich, oh yes, it really is. I also think, photographers who are able to enjoy that part are literally never frustrated about getting bad results, but they anyway get really great shots from time to time. And when both comes together, enjoying to frame compositions and getting great results, I can appreciate the result much more 🙂 Thanks a lot for your kind words, my friend. Enjoy your Sunday, Christian

Hi Trish, thank you so much for your kind words 🙂 Yes, that platform is absolutely spectacular. It is even bigger than I showed in the video, I was just once more expelled by the weather 🙂 Maybe I'll return there in later future. I'm sure there are many more possibilities for amazing compositions. Have a great Sunday, Christian

At 3:50, are you sprinkling some magic dust on the lens? Is this the secret of your success? :-) Another great video, Christian - thank you!

Hi David, of course it was magic dust. But that works just with saying the spell "Let's make the click" 😆 Just kidding. That was my IR remote release. I really like this one, as it is super small and a light weight. Usually I carry it around in my pocket, because I forget to put it into my bag again after I took the first shot 🙂 Thanks a lot for watching and have a great Sunday, Christian

A good video I appreciate that you explained how you think before you taking the pictures. What is it you carry on the shoulder strap?

Hi Thomas, that's really so fantastic to know that the way how I made a video was useful. So, thank you so much for your kind feedback, my friend 🙂 To that thing on my shoulder strap: It's a bear spray. If the weather had been stable we had stayed out till getting a sunset shot and for the way back in the dark I feel more comfortable with a bear spray 🙂 I don't want to harm animals, it is just thought for defending my life in case I should get attacked. The risk therefore is very low though, but I simply feel more safe, I can focus 100% on my compositions when I have one with me. Nice greetings from the mountains, Christian

Great video Christian and an epic adventure in some stunning landscape. You nailed some beautiful light in some of those shots dappling onto the mountainsides. I could only imagine how peaceful the atmosphere there must be. Thank you for sharing the journey out.

Hi Adrian, thank you so much, buddy - means a lot 🙂 That platform up there is really stunning. Actually, I got once more expelled by the weather. There is also another path leading up there, so maybe I'll return there in future to photograph more at that side I was walking through in the end of the video. We will see 🙂 Enjoy your Sunday, Christian
