Chris keep both. I suggest put the “realistic” statues in the display and the “OGs” on the shelf on the side. So you get to have the best of both worlds.

Have both in my collection: Love the OG, but the new One wins for me. I displayed the OG Ivy, with OG Harley an the new Catwoman PF - so the Sirens are united. The new Ivy I will display with the upcoming Harley Hell on Wheels PF.

OG for me, OG SS + 1/3 Hush Ivy is the perfect combo of ivys for my collection, new SS is more similar to the hush but inferior in every way for me.

I would move OG Ivy and Harley to the white book shelf. As you said, the natural skin color of Ivy and the jester costumed Harley will be hard to find down the road. Plus still beautiful statues.

The sculpt of the new Ivy is amazing but overall I prefer the OG one: love the pose, the skin color and the comic book feel. That said, the new one has amazing detail, a nice portrait and a realistic anatomy. Once you put them in the case, the new one pops out and fits better with the newer pieces.

The new one fits the case better to me. 100%. The OG is a nice statue but looks kind of like a 50s pinup pose in a Halloween costume in my opinion. Just doesn't have the hard core villain feel to it. The new one has a real feel of a villain to me. It's sinister and it has more of the cinematic feel to it which matches the other new statues.

The new one is better to me and i plan on getting one, i love the athletic body and face sculpt on it. I like the body sculpt on the OG but the overall details didn't age well in my opinion.

I think you made the right call, Chris. New Ivy looks better in the case and goes better with your current Sideshow display. OG Ivy looks better as a stand alone, in my opinion. Just picked up the New 52 Batman, absolutely magnificent statue! I'm a big fan of dynamic poses, and he is easliy the most dynamic Batman statue I've seen. Was curious, are you considering bringing him into the Batcave?

The new Poison Ivy gives off a more menacing presence like all the other villains in your collection, whereas the OG one, while still gorgeous, is now starting to look like a sexy cosplayer in the bunch.

I rather the new Ivy. Reason being, different opinions with pose. I think it's better because it looks like she's about to use her power. The new Ivy is on my wishlist. Also do not get rid of the OG Ivy. It's cool to have both because you can switch them out when your ready. More options that way as well.

I like the body on OG more (minus the tights), but the new one knocks everything else out of the park. Most importantly that gorgeous portrait almost puts the OG to shame. It's definitely feeling dated, especially the paint. Maybe you should get the OG a new paint job? I bet that would make a world of difference. You made the right choice. No doubt there's room in the collection for both though!

I think the new one looks better in terms of realism, and it fits well with your other statues there. The OG one has a classic disney princess vibe to it.. The new one looks better with the pose, the face and the overall aesthetic. And yeah I agree with one comment here that the joker and harley look out of place in your display.

Both have their advantages. In a comic aspect, the OG. I love how her 2 plants are done and shows overall vintage. The new one has a more modern and realistic aspect. Granted the inner plant on her feet could've been painted differently, but overall catches her likeness. Modern fits very well in the case. I'd keep both.

Tough choice for sure. But the new PF has that pop of color that really makes the case more visually aesthetic. Always loved your 1/4 scale case - OG Joker looks phenomenal with the new PF's - plus that background is fire.

The new one looks so familiar.. reminds me of a generic female body builder pose.. her level of muscle definition on her back accentuates that. The older one just has a better iconic Poison Ivy pose. Her face sculpt could have been a tad better tho. But otherwise, I like the older as the better of the two.

Great video with 2 amazing statues ! I own the new one and love it but the OG has charm and class all it own. I think whichever one you feel fit your collection is the one that goes in the case. I can see arguments for both. They are both great in there own way. I think it’s a great time to be a statue collector we have some amazing statues to collect!

It is more modern but I still prefer the OG. Not a fan of the green on the new one. She Hulk comes to mind at first glance. Neither would be a wrong choice in the case but to me the OG is visually more interesting.

OG Ivy for me as well. Something about her pose and sculpt is more sexy and seductive and that's how she is portrayed in the comics. The new Ivy is too muscular, the character was never portrayed as such in comics or any other media. The sculpt on her face isn't as pretty as the original either.

I think the new 1 looks better in the case.It has a more dynamic pose. It's color pallet and scale I feel fit more organically into the case. However, as a statue itself, I feel that the new Ivy's color pallet is a bit too monochromatic which makes it less interesting to look at, for me. It doesn't 'Pop' under it's own volition. As you pointed out, the muscularity and the hair also aren't standouts for me. As a statue itself, I like the OG a lot better. I wish I had the OG in my collection. Both great pieces, though.

@@BatmanStatueCollector the colors as a whole are very muted earth tones. Mostly greens and browns. The only deviation from this are the small purple flowers in her hair. Maybe if they had those flowers growing out of the vines on her body or put a more dynamic color on the inside of the Venus bulb she's emerging from... I don't know. The color pallet needs jazzed up IMO.

It seems that your collection is turning into a "modern take" collection, which is great. Yet your OG pieces are awesome, and I think that the Joker PF on the middle is the central piece that holds the two worlds together, the older OGs, with more color and comicbook likeness, and the modern pieces, with a grimmer look to them. Anyway, I LOVE your collection!!

I have a question, why don’t statue companies give the option to buy different portraits or poses that you can buy or add at a later date ? This would give new life to a statue, you could buy different portraits or different arms, or even change the base.

Great review/comparison Chris! Thanks for this and they both look amazing in their own right! So first off, for my money, the portrait holds the most weight when I collect. Artgerm is one of the best digital artist I’ve ever seen and that original Ivy just doesn’t capture that as well as the newer sideshow PF, at least in terms of portrait. The Ian MacDonald/Alex Pascenko designers they’re using now for some DC and Marvel pieces have a much more true likeness to the source material. However I’m sure these are digital sculpts now vs back then. Still both are amazing pieces but I’d have to chalk up at least this new Ivy as the winner. Also, the Green with Envy variant of the OG piece beats the flesh tone one one in my humble opinion. I’m likely biased on the OG becuase the source Art from Artgerm is one of the best Ivy’s I’ve ever seen so this one unfortunately detracts front that a bit in my eyes. Harley however is a different story. PS Have you seen the sideshow artist series Gotham city sirens line by Artgerm? They’re stylistic and futuristic takes on all 3 of the girls. They have great sculpts and portraits. They about 1/5 scale I believe.

If you haven't seen the new in real life you won't like it! I owned it. It's amazing. Always thought that the OG was still better but seeing them next to each other...no mate. The OG is is one of the most beautiful older sideshow statues but it's outdated now in detail, sculpt and paint! Good choice with the new!

OG for pose and design. That’s the version I grew up with per Batman The Animated Series. Though the cartoon she had on a 1 piece green bikini, but close enough. Also I’m not really feeling her being green skinned. Makes her look weird to me personally. Like a She-Hulk vibe. Edit: the new SS one lacks a lot of detail, texture, and mediocre paint job. But Chris, just my opinion. As long as you’re happy that’s what matters most. 🙂
