Epic Railfanning on Vermont Railway's Northern Sub!

Kicking off a multi week New England railfanning series, we’re just “across the pond” in the Burlington area to shoot some action on Vermont Rail System’s (Vermont Railway’s) Northern Subdivision.
We start off in downtown Burlington to shoot the inaugural run of Amtrak’s Ethan Allen Express. Then it’s down to Charlotte for VTR road freight RDBD heading north at track speed. Finally we catch RDBD working with BD-1 before the train heads south as BDRD.

Just wanted to follow up on the comment I made about the Rutland RR vintage video. It is found a channel called "sjwhitney" and it's called "Green Mountain Railroading on the Rutland." It shows part of a video produced by Blackhawk Films and this video is great as it shows the Rutland RR in all it's glory - steam, diesel, passenger trains, freight trains in the early 1950s. The quality of the film is excellent and I thought you might enjoy it!

Nice. How does one find the timetable of Vermont Railway's southern subdivision? From Rutland to North Bennington.

Not much of a timetable, crew goes on duty in Rutland and does whatever they need to do. With not many reports from that line the only way to know would be a scanner.

Interesting video Harrison! But I'm confused. I thought all Vermont Railway locomotives were supposed to be green? I mean, just like all Corvettes are supposed to be red? 😉

I wish they were all green and still said "Rutland" on the side. Perhaps then we could still see trains here in the Champlain Islands running the Island line.
