Us viewers knew we were in for a treat today when the Morcombe and Wise of club cricket commentary turned up early ( for a change) ... well done to the Sanderstead boys a nice gutsy win considering half the side are missing ... As for Dan and Lances comments on Will missing the game because it was his girlfriends BIRTHDAY .. never would have happened back in the day but times change and as for Dan missing the birth of his kids because of cricket all that matters he was there for conception

A cracking match and a well-earned win. Spirited bowling from Kingstonians, with a few Sanderstead batsmen getting good scores - I thought a total of over 190 would be needed. However, Kingstonians didn't have a strong enough batting lineup to deal with Sanderstead's fine bowlers, supported by determined fielding. The bespectacled lexicon should use 'accomplishment' as his next word of the day.

The “bespectacled lexicon” - love that! Btw I always felt 175 was defendable - the Kingstonians lads do tend to approach their batting like a T20 and are vulnerable as a result. They can be very entertaining when it comes off, though!

Another brilliant video.... you're getting quite good at this. The difference between teams was the opening partnership, Kingstonians were 4 down at 50 whilst Sanderstead passed that mark without loss. Jack came in at No.3 and top scored but it's so much easier to bat when the innings has a solid foundation.

Looked a classy batsman, I did nearly write that he looked like a pro - I’ve played a few players with helmets or other clothing like that and they’ve been pretty damn awful. Who’s he played for? 65 games is a lot of first class to be playing at this level which he’s clearly above

A win brought about by enthusiasm, Matt H, some terrific catching. Brave l’equipe de Sanderstead.Deadly combo of youth and heavyweight experince. Cannot stop watching it. In Paris, France, there are a load of decent cricketers from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Playing against them for the Standard Athletic Club was always fun as it was a big day out for them and their families. You always knew three things...if you tossed it up the lads would try and hit it back to the homeland. There would be at least three run outs as batters looked to pinch the strike. If it started chatting, we were going to win the game. Oh yes, and if you were on tea duty, standard favourites such as pork pies or cheese and ham sandwiches hd to be replaced by egg sarnies and curried chicken wraps. Happy days...great lads.

Which Pilgrim beer was it? You must have had a bad pint or one of their experimental brews. I’ve been drinking real ale for 40 years and Pilgrims range is amazing and the best I’ve had. I recommend you go to the brewery in Reigate and sample a few, then you’ll know how good some of them they are.

I could be worse the wear from too many morning coffees, but I reckon that if someone spent a couple of hours a week in the nets with Matt he would score decent runs. He plays golf and hockey so he sees a ball...he never wears a helmet so he has guts ( or is silly) but gets out with silly shot selection. No more java for me this morning.
