Japan is that dream I've had since little, the culture, the people, the places, I'm in love with such diversity and beauty, being a kid growing up watching anime and listening Japanese music it has become a culture i know from the inside, feels so personal but at the same time like a fantasy, a thing so perfect can't exist, it's my ultimate wish to go there, just to make sure it's real

Felipe Ottalora Japan is great, but don't be a weeaboo. You cannot say you "watching anime and listen to Japanese music" all the time and claim to know it inside out. Don't get me wrong, I like Japan very much but also know that it's not heaven, has many drawbacks as well just like any other countries. Ask any Japanese about all the taboos and stress that they have to endure during their life

I remember 20 years ago I started watching Japanese cartoon in a TV with my younger brother (It was Doraemon). We both grew up in the era when Japanese culture blends into our childhood through the Manga arts. Time passed until 2018, me and my brother still have the same dream; to visit Japan together. To bring back our childhood memories that is so much playful and full of fantasy. This vlog from you Mike, opens our eyes that Japan isn't just about Doraemon or Sushi but also about a life changing journey through a visual arts. Thanks for always showing us this thing. If we got this ticket; it'll be not just a dream come true for me and my brother, but also a huge chance for us to learn to create a better visual, and to be a better content creator. Cheers bro!

The allure to go back to Japan always feels like a magnetic pull. The pulsating energy of the city and the calm sense of nature all beautifully packaged makes each visit seem like a new experience. I would love to experience this all over again, and to traverse through the Japanese culture that makes japan truly unique.

I didn't know I miss Japan until I watched this video, Mike! Great work! I've been to Japan a couple of times already and the last time was 5 years ago. In that span, paired with how it's fast-paced nowadays, a lot might have changed. Japan I visited 5 years ago can be an entirely new Japan 5 years later. But for me, aside from the warmth and genuineness of their people, one thing about Japan has always stood out and stood the test of time: its harmony between contrasts, the balance between old and new, the then and now-all of which, you excellently showed here in this video. Japan has all this advancements in technology, infrastructures, and way of life and yet you still see old temples, shrines, and traditions throughout. Japan gives you that urban lifestyle and yet a couple of train rides away, you can be greeted with a relaxing feel of the countryside. I can go on and on with this but one thing is for sure, I want to visit Japan again because I know it will be an awesome experience for me to live through all of that all over again, capture and relive those moments in my photographs.

Japan has always been a dream for me. Seeing it's diversity, makes it feel as a completely different world, from its tall skyscrapers to its scenic natural landscapes. Watching the cherry blossom trees, going to the Studio Ghibli Museum, visiting the temples and trying sushi are simple things that would help me in understanding more about the place and connecting with it. As a enthusiastic photographer, I'd also love to visit the different places, meet new people and document my travel and capture the rich history and culture of the place. Visiting the land of the rising sun would definitely be a dream come to life.

I'm absolutely in love with Japan. It's a country that's so unique, full of culture, genuine values, beautifully well-preserved nature and delicious looking food. I've been dreaming to discover more about Japan beyond pictures and videos because I know how different it is to experience the place yourself. I hope to create content like yours that would inspire people to explore and see how beautiful other parts of the world is even through the perspective of another person.

You can never get enough of one place. Japan in particular is full of culture that is both forever valued and changing with the world's impressions. I would love to go to Japan so much! The reasons would be: I would want to go down the streets of Nara for the best omurice from the most genuine mom and pop restaurant, go to the totoro bakeshop in tokyo, visit places I missed before and haven't had the chance to experience. I worked my butt off to be able to travel internationally once, a dream I had for several years. Now I'm hoping to be able to go again to make more memories. Thank you 🌸

My freshman year of high school was just like any other kids first year of high school; constantly trying to see where you fit in and who you want to hang around. I can remember during the first week of school sitting next to a foreign exchange student in my science class. At the time I thought nothing of it but later on, this kid turned out to be one of my best friends from high school. His name was Kei and he was from a small town just outside of Tokyo. When it came time to pick our seats for the class, I decided to sit right next to Kei to get to know him and understand his culture better. What struck me the most about him was that he was always in a cheerful and happy mood. He would always ask me how my day was and I would likewise do the same. Our high school wasn't very diverse so it was great getting to know Kei and his culture. I still keep in contact with him through social media but it would be awesome to be able to visit him in his home country of Japan!

I've always been captivated by the country's cultural heritage and how they preserve and value it, and I want to experience it for myself. Whenever I travel, it's always an objective for me to meet new people and experience their culture and I wish to be Japan to be my next travel destination.

Did you get permits prior to flying the drones where you did? Considering those shots are actually against the law in Japan... For example Tokyo Tower, Osaka Castle and Kyoto are absolutely smack bang in the middle of no fly zones (populated areas) and near airports/helipads. 6:05, 6:49, 7:48 10:01 and 11:33 all look like completely illegal footage to take. The Tokyo tower shot especially was a bad idea as the law is also not to fly above 150 meters, that tower is 333 meters so you more than doubled the limit. If the drone malfunctioned you could’ve easily taken someone out. Also, drones are also not to be flown at night or out of visual sight in Japan. So that Tokyo tower shot is actually breaking three laws of flying drones in Japan... Also there are signs plastered around the place saying not to touch cherry blossom trees while they are in bloom since their life cycle is so short. So I cringe a bit when I see people grab branches no matter how careful they are trying to be. As awesome as it looks... I feel that too many people are travelling overseas and vlogging with complete disregard to law and general respect for the locals and the environment. If I ever fly drones I would first explain or provide in the description that drones were flown in permitted areas and provide locations, and the laws around them. Otherwise I’m essentially just promoting people to do the same. As you are an owner of a DJI drone, you should be well aware of these no fly zones as DJI themselves provides a map for you to check before you fly. www.dji.com/flysafe/geo-map# Getting permission can take weeks and I see no comment in your description or video that you actually did this, nor do I believe you can get permission where you flew, so I feel you were just oblivious. Please please provide awareness when travelling so you don’t promote others to do things they shouldn’t. On top of that, if you have no care for the locals and regulations, at least look at it from a selfish point of view where you can get fined upwards of $5000. Having said all that, I hope you had a wonderful time in the country I decided to move to.
@Castor-ii1sf
@Castor-ii1sf 6 жыл бұрын
Well said! I totally agree. I was wondering if he got permission as well and also was thinking I could do the same next time I go to Tokyo. Need to be respectful of the laws and the country. Japan is such an awesome place. But I can't deny this is an awesome video. I guess the risk outweighed the reward if he didn't get permission.
@zedamex
@zedamex 6 жыл бұрын

Japan has always been my dream destination because I'm a big fan of Anime and a lover of Japanese cuisine, and just really fascinated with Japanese culture overall. Last October, I was fortunate enough to go on a short trip with my mum and brother to Tokyo to meet with my aunt and grandmother, to celebrate her 85th. Little did I know two of my cousins, who I haven't seen in more than 10 years, flew in as well! It turned out to be a fun little reunion. It was raining hard then so I wasn't able to take as much pictures as I wanted to and we we didn't get around much, but it still turned out to be an awesome trip! Now Japan has a more special place in my heart and I'm looking forward to going again, to see the cherry blossoms this time! Your vlog is fantastic and the photos are just as stunning! You look like you had so much fun! Glad you got your drone back! That's one of the things you gotta love about Japan, you can misplace things and they'll still be there when you come back for them. 😍

Another insane video Mike! Loved the Shinjuku Arch shot! For me, culture is what makes a destination so unique and it's why Japan intrigues me so much. I love its rich history that dates back 100s (even 1000s) of years but also adore the fact that it's seen as one of the technological hubs of the world. First of all, soo dope those photos and the blog? amazing...Japan in my opinion is 1 of the best places that everyone should go, more that just visit its to learn the disipline, how homble is the people ( most of them dont think then there will be someone who might hurt them) respect since their are child just the way of them to say hi , that move to lean infront of a other person showing them what kind of person they are... is just blow my mind. All of this i have been reading and watching many video about that than i got inlove with this country. I wanna live this experience it could be kind selfish asking this for myselft but still it will be an unique experience. Thank you for this opportunity

I don't even know where to begin, but your vlog is EPIC ! From the shot to the music, I just do not want your vlog to end :D. I have heard many people say that one place you must visit before you die is Japan. The culture, the food, the nature, the friendliness and politeness of its people, not to mention the cleanliness of the country, are what probably attract people around the world to visit Japan all year long. I have never been there and would love to fly there, experiencing and immersing myself to what Japan has to offer :)

I think Japan has so much to offer, from stunning Landscapes to the crazy cities! But most importantly, I travel because of the people. I love the japanese culture and all the locals in your video, as well as in others, are just so genuine. Would love to see that in person! And by the way, the Vlog was so good, the perfect combo with your crazy editing!

Japan has been on the top of my travel bucket list for a very long time. As an avid nature explorer/hiker and Japanese food lover, I would love to visit Japan to experience the scenic views of Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms, while being immersed in the amazingly unique environment, culture and food. Also, I would be sure to load up my suitcase with a gazillion different flavours of Kit Kats to try and share with everyone back home.

I watched so many studio ghibli movies that i fell in love with the idea of Cherry blossoms and the countryside of Japan. This video is so amazing and the cherry blossoms were exactly as in the movies and i wish you explored more to the countryside but it showed so much here. Maybe Someday i will have the luxury to visit that beautiful country in Shaa Allah but for now this vlog is my fave one 🤗 thanks man.

Visited Japan for the first time last winter and had an unforgettable experience with their beautiful culture and advanced technology. There was so much to do, but had so little time. I’ve yet to conquer all of Japan, but I hope to experience it once more just so I can capture more beautiful memories and relish their culture again.

Hello Mike, amazing video! Japan is the dream place I want to visit. I believe I can experience different destinations in different seasons - cherry blossom in spring, temples and amusement parks in summer, skiing and hotspring in winter... the nightviews of top cities are spetacular as well. Plus, I am a big fan of sushi and ramen, and Japanese food is my favourite! In general Japan perfectly integrates tradition with modernization. Look forward to your next video!

I grew up watching anime since i was young. When i got older i always had been a fan of the culture and the people there, i’ve made my researches about Japan and fell in love with it! I’ve even made a full of “what to do/visit” list! It’s my long term project to go there. It’s really a dream for me to go there and to be able to experience the japanese lifestyle that i had been so much willing to visit and been dreaming about.

Since I was young I've wanted to visit japan. Japan holds a close place in my heart as a place I've wanted to photograph and film since I started my creator journey a few years ago. Unfortunately I have been unable to afford any travel lately and could really use a break from 9-5 to find my spark again as I feel it has really dimmed the past 6 months. Cant seem to get myself out of a slump. This trip would really help me regain my confidence in my work and help me fulfil my dream of being a full time creator. I want to also say thank you for just inspiring me to go out and fight the slump. without you man I wouldn't be creating.

The reason why i want to go to Japan is mainly because of their culture and beautiful places. I want to try traditional japanese food, see mt fuji, explore cities, see cherry blossoms, try their hot springs and many more. I have never gone to Japan before and since i was a child it is in one of my list of places to go to before i die 🤣🤣. I am super grateful for having the chance to get a free trip to Japan I hope I win 😁☺
