Obviously there are many factors that go into that... your skill level, your equipment, your market, and the level of client you are working with. The cool thing about tabletop productions is that they are easy to do in smaller spaces (i.e. living room, dining room, etc.). We don't shoot much spec work, but tabletop is a great place to experiment and start developing a reel. Once you have a good portfolio of work, start approaching clients with whatever rate you feel it's worth. Slowly start upping your rate as you get more and more clients until you feel you're at the level that's worth your time and effort.
