It's not really the purpose of sci-fi to educate, though. If you want plausible space battles, you should watch The Expanse. The ludicrously powerful engines aside, the series gets most things right.

i know one thing...the Victory would not have been defeated by a crusty ass ole starship like that...the advanced technology and firepower and materials that ship was made of made it virtually invulnerable...that was my only complaint about the compilation..other than that it was pretty cool

Personally not a massive fan - I've still seen the 3 at the cinema so I have supported Star Trek regardless. 2009 was alright, the others not so much but if you enjoyed them then that's all good - if they're entertaining to other people then that's fine by me.

+Lisa winn 'tis true, I cannot deny it. They just kind of fit but I'm not a fan of the films. Then again, they both look better than the latest one - I like my Fast & Furious kept in the Fast & Furious, no idea why they chose Justin Lin to direct a 'Star Trek' film.

Agrees, I do admit I do like the hull design of the kelvin, I just don't like that industrial plant internal design look. What gets me is even an earth forces battle cruiser had a much more symmetrical internal design and their a different genre altogether. Oh hehe, just imagine the earth forces battle cruiser Agamemnon refit with fed tech but keeping those two massive forward facing lasers as well as the addition of phaser arrays photon tubes and fed shield tech hehe.
