In Australia we get a mackerel called a Spanish mackerel but it is a much larger and different species.

Foul hooked a good one trolling on a dinner cruise boat. I was supposed to keep fishing low key so couldnt ask to slow the boat down, felt like I was pulling a boulder in off the bottom. One spanish mack and my arms were cooked.

In Australia 🇦🇺 we call those little things shark mackerel. What we call Spanish mackerel you guys call king mackerel.

I live in england and there’s a place called Bridlington where you can fish. I did it twice one three hour and one six the first time I had fish before. The first time I caught one mackerel but the second time belive it or not I caught 43 mackerel, 4 cod, 2/3 rainbow trout and a dog fish I was amazed lol

u should try European feather lures we use them for sea fishing in ireland they will catch anything and in schools you could get a 6 feather hook up

Josh, with the gotcha plug, couldnt you put a small wire leader on it? I havent gone fishing for mackerel before and plan to in the spring. I just want some tips for when they start biting again

This guy does a disservice, both to his viewers and the fish that cut him off, by not using wire. If you don't use wire, you're going to spend a fortune on jigs/lures.
