AN ANSWER LETTER! Just imagine for now, if you could travel to a place where there were only 3 men a chemist, a physicist and a mathematician, where each one practically realigned his studies and research. On one floor you would see flasks with multicolored liquids that in some times were called portions and today we call chemical compounds, multicolored flames that today we know to be the kernel of elements like powder, magnesium, sodium among others. In the middle floor you would see piles and piles of books, strange equipaments pointed at the sky, you would see black squares with calcúlos that looked more like scribblings of a child not literate, would see something shine like the light of the sun through a mystical force, which we know today as a lamp and electricity! In the third floor, unlike the others, I would see a room with walls and ceiling painted black, and in these there are so many calculations written in white paint that they looked more like inscriptions from another world, it would be difficult to find a part in the walls, ceiling or memo on the floor for a single number. If you spent time on each floor and watched silently, each of you working you would see some things very common, not between sciences but between men. You would see many tears, much sadness, deception, unlike poets and writers, these men do not even have the freedom to express these feelings in their books, they need to be methodical, thorough, pragmatic and accurate, and when they finally succeed, it matters how it works and why it works as long as it works. But every small discovery at every little advance science spells them as the mermaid enchants the incandescent sailor and soon nothing else matters. So if you ask me how would this song or songs should be? I answer: Sad, melancholy wrapped in hope and passion. What I ask of you is not a song or songs about science but about men of science. Thank you so much!
