Great demo. It's nice to see someone with impeccable musical tastes use the pedal the way it should be used. I love the drive + reverb option. Instant Bad Seeds/Crime and the City Solution vibes!

I got mine, don't let the name Five-0 fool you, this is a REAL BLUES MACHINE ! I plug it inside my Fender VibroChamp or Tremolux, in order to have both reverb and drive and it gives me (almost) everything I need. A great and massive pedal, built like a tank. I just hope Valco won't stop here and offer more pedals like this with modulations such as Univibe and phaser ! it's a great pedal, very simple to use and to achieve the sound you want. Paired with a Stratocaste, this is pure blues madness !

Andy hooked my interest, and Adrian reeled me in... You have to respect what these guys do with a guitar. I’m hoping we’ll see plenty of this pedal in future tutorials.

Seems like a great, simple option for classic pre-Beatles guitar sounds. Doesn't hurt that it looks like the weapons arming panel on a cold-war fighter jet either. The reverb may not sound like a classic '63 Fender unit. But it does sound true to the era, nonetheless.

$379 for those wondering, which isn't bad for three pedals as long as it sounds good. I think it does. I just wish it had an EXP input for trem rate, and it would be nice if you could hit the pre button with your foot. It doesn't really have to be a footswitch, but where it is you pretty much have to stick a finger on it.

Nice review, you should become a gear reviewer, you seem to have a tilt towards UK made gear, maybe get Cornish to send you something! I recently purchased one of those Boss FDR1 pedals NOS, that does a similar thing albeit with less configuration settings! This one kills it!

I’m rather surprised considering the otherwise robust build quality that it appears they cheaped out and used plastic nuts for the input and output jacks. Sounds really good overall but I do wish the reverb did more of a drip.

Something that frustrates me as a budding guitar player is how often I make mistakes - wrong notes, wrong strings ringing out etc. When I watch youtubers they almost always play flawlessly. Is this because they are just that good and practice what they are playing until its perfect or are they just editing out the fluffs? Am I the only one who makes mistakes or is there hope?
@quintessenceSL3 жыл бұрын
Take inspiration from Tom Verlaine- wrong notes, wrong strings... or happy accidents. You get better with time (and practice).
@illi413 жыл бұрын
good tip for most is to practice very very slowly, so slowly that a listener 'wouldn't necessarily recognise the tune you're playing'. 35 long years before I read that and it really seems to work.
@octave-up-up-up3 жыл бұрын
Both, for sure. I consider myself a reasonable guitarist, have been playing for like 26 years, but everyone is human and fluffs stuff occasionally.. or often! I've had to reshoot parts or re-record loops SO many times because I knew they were gonna be committed to a video. Keep at it!
@thecaveofthedead3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It's definitely both. People who've put in serious hours of practise learn to keep unwanted notes quiet until it becomes unconscious. And slow, steady repetition increases accuracy. And _of course_ KZbinrs and people on ticktock are going to replay awful sounding mistakes - which everyone will still occasionally make no matter how practised they are. Like someone else suggested. Play slow and cleanly consciously (ideally to a metronome) until you can speed up and your fingers still remember what to do.
@c.p.15893 жыл бұрын
Everyone is born with a certain number of mistakes that they have to do. Adrian has already done all his. You've still got some to do.

Good demo, Adrian. But the effects themselves sound rather generic, more appropriate to a much less expensive pedal. In favor of less polite guitar sounds, that makes you a rude boy, Adrian.
