The fact you actually showed Ody slipping in the lotus immediately made this a 10/10. The other small details like composing the entire inner part in red legos or that soldier using the spear like a gymnast bar just elevated the whole thing even more.

Honestly the lego version looks goofy and horrifying at the same time it's almost seem cinematic
@mega66624 ай бұрын
I think is because he has Cinematic presence The others have cool designs and are obviously more serious but the shaky camera when he speaks , the red lightning which overtakes the screen when he takes a kill and he looking down at the camera makes him feel massive And I think the classic cyclops designs helps add on the previous, he’s just a cyclops, not a crab like monster or a elephant skull with a man’s body It gives more emphasis on its strength and how he doesn’t even have to move to kill but just swing his club and use brute force, the red light (which was previously stablished to represent each time he makes a kill) helps to showcase his carnage Other animatics put a bunch of death body’s in a small montage mid song while not showing him, here he has presence and we see him glaring at us while we know he’s massacring them without bating a eye The others feel like monsters, this is a beast and makes more emphasis on how he’s doing it as revenge and how this is personal

@@bucketsanimations One question, how did you make the legos fly? like the parts where soldier jump up using the spear or when Ody jumps from the cliff. How did you levitate the legos?
@bucketsanimations4 ай бұрын
@@flyingpristWhat I did was I used the masking tool on Stop Motion Studio. The way it works is you take one frame that has a stand holding up the object (let's say a ball) and then you take another frame with everything the exact same EXCEPT you take away the stand AND the ball. Then in Stop Motion Studio, using a paint tool, you can overlay part of the frame without the stand or ball, on top of the frame with the stand and ball. And if you overlay it so that it's covering the stand, there's just the ball left floating. Hope that helps!

The Lego figure can't emote, unfortunately. It did come across that way to me, too, but I still believe his inaction isn't the monstrous patience waiting for the wine's effect, and more the horror that after years at war and losing no men, the first loss was his dear friend.

Ok the second half of this is f*ing amazing! The action roll, the blood splatter, the lighting?!! The animation, camera work, lighting, staging, all of it is so dynamic and interesting to watch. just gonna list some of my favorite moments: 1:31 dropping the sheep in time with the music 1:37 almost missed Polyphemus blinking and his pupil moving 2:30 the cover toss and the horizontal arm movement 2:40 reaching behind to add the lotus was so cool 2:55 spinning shot! (Gigi reference? :0) 3:25 again dropping the barrel on the reveal 3:30 the stomp was very cool 4:00 the sword flourishes are such a nice touch 4:25 holy moly idk if you used vfx/photoshop for the sword toss but that was *chefs kiss* 4:30 nice quick dune reference (i assume) 4:35 the somersaults are crazy 4:41 the free-moving legs caught me off guard at first 4:50 the javelins on "Hah, hah!"!!!!! 5:05 Battle acrobatics ftw 5:15 didn't think anyone could match the cool factor of Mircsy's rendition, much less in LEGO 5:35 as if the acrobatics couldn't get better 5:42 nice dolly zoom (think that's what its called) 5:47 the second *thud* being Polyphemus crushing Polities again is such a brutal and great interpretation of the audio 5:55 also the dismembered minifigs are honestly more brutal than most of what I've seen animators do 5:57 the crewmembers hand shaking is such a nice detail 6:20 again Polyphemus double-tapping the crew! so good, really sells the brutality of what Ody is seeing 6:40 Polyphemus collapsing onto Polities is such a great way to add insult to injury Again, this is SO GOOD!

THAT WAS SO GOOD! The part with Polites death was SO devastating! One of tbe best interpretations. And because they're lego it lets you be as brutal as possible with them but it still hurts! Also the part where they are attacking the cyclops is great! Really lets you show off. I find it a little funny how they're all attacking from the front instead of the back like Odysseus told them though XD. But the part with the club is GREAT. 100/10! I hope Mr. Jalapeño sees this!

@madrone338 ай бұрын
This is SO COOL. The background characters moving. The shots where some things are out of focus. Polyphemus is so BIG and it actually really helps my mental image of the scene to see it laid out like that. The camera shake every time Polyphemus speaks. The way it zoomed in on the drum beats during Ody's verse. I like how it kinda got fuzzy when Ody was hyping the wine up, almost like he was subtly weaving a spell. The part where he chucks the wine barrel lid was SO SMOOTH. How he discreetly throws the Lotus in. Amazing transition between songs. The FLAIR when they grabbed their weapons. (Also thought it was funny that Polyphemus is just standing there letting them plan lmao.) The whole battle scene is AMAZING! The fight choreography! When the spear guys throw and then duck down so the second spear guys can throw above them was just 🤌 That guy who jumped off those other guy's backs to gain height. Ody climbing the cliff and then jumping down and slashing his back. Oh OH I LOVED how you showed Polyphemus' injuries! And the guy who gets knocked down and the his buddy helps him up The guy who uses the lodged spear to fling himself up! And then POLITES!! Bro got hit TWICE so brutal. I loved how it became night time then, like the darkest moment, and Polites' light went out. (You should've just put a pancake down on the second hit /j) Wow there are *so many* kills. Sorry that got so long lmao. I really like lego, and you did AMAZING 👏👏👏💙

This is so incredible, by the gods! The character choices, the camera shaking when Polyphemus speaks, the shattered legos for corpses, ODYSSEUS SLIPPING THE LOTUS INTO THE WINE FROM BEHIND HIS BACK?!?!?! HELLO??????
