I heard that apparently the reason it was so hard for the suitors to string the bow is because Odysseus used a bow that was designed specifically for people too short to use a longbow and it sorta looked like it was backwards and you had to bend it back to string it, and I also heard that Penelope was never planning on marrying them because she was sitting behind the axes so even if they did figure it out if someone shot through the axes it would kill her (hence “cause I’d rather die then grow old without the best of you”)
