They didn't have very secure copyrights on a lot of the WFB IP Original warhammer was so heavily tolkien influenced, it was ruled in a few cases of accused IP infringements that it was 'generic fantasy' so not copyrightable, and GW lost some court cases. As a company, GW seems to have felt it was far to risky to allow windows to be left open on their IP (fairly valid, they were stuck in a chain of lawsuits against people using those windows), necessitating a need to scrap a ton of their world, so they could create one they did have solid IP claims on.

Just finished the same battle with Noctilus. Quite different for me, sinceI still used plenty of zombies with just a couple of big guys. Was pure carnage and a great battle, but very disappointed that you don't get some kinda buff or ability after you beat it. Yes, you've technically won the campaign but it would be fun if we could actually put that captured sea-beast to use!

Anzu Wyliei could have made something like the beast popping out every now and then shooting/ spitting something at your army, and you get an extra unit that you have to defend , and every time the beast pops out they shoot it with the star-metal harpoon. Something along those lines would have been really cool. But maybe its hard with their tech idk.

It seems the battle engine can only support 1v1 in a way, even if one side have 3 full stacks, etc.. it always like that. No free for all. So, if the high elves were there, they would have to fight alongside Lokhir or the VC. Notice how the vortex final battle uses waves of 1v1 battles. The engine is limited, this game is a expansion of WH1 and they still charge full price for it.

How do you keep your guys at full hp through the fight? When I did this battle earlier the unique spell that said it healed units and replenish ammo wouldn't heal my units, just reload the ammo amount. All 6 of my Depth Guard units were wiped out and only had 40 guys remaining after this fight, and that was with popping all uses of the spell to keep Queen Bess firing(she got over 800 kills).

It did heal units for me, but some of my more exposed units hit the healing cap rather quickly. I used invocation of nehek liberally to keep units in the fight because the unique quest ability wasn't enough for my crap-tier units with bronze chevrons.

Not even that, it attacks random coastal settlements. But when you "conquered" the monster, he remains attacking random settlements, but only of your enemies. Basically you don't even control this, you can't chose the settlement, it's random.

super cool and awesome battle. me waiting like a child in a candy shop: And now amanar only attacks your enemys (yea no clue he hasn't attacked my ports in 160 turns) aaaand thats it. no "the army marches on" buff like the tomb kings get with regen on all your units and more armys to field. kindof dissapointing i was hoping for some cool buff. i honestly saved and just skipped some turns just to be sure. btw my gun army totally destroyed that end battle with 8 something deaths and some damage on my hero's.

Seems like a really easy and "conventionnal" quest battle. I wish we'd get more of the "really strong/unique ennemies" or "they come from every corner at the same time" quest battles like Skrolk's or Brettonia's.

they could definitely up the challenge, but its hard to balance cuz not everyone can or will roll into it with a Necrofex doomstack and a level 40 Noctilus. you dont want less experienced players to be in a situation where they literally cant win the campaign on lower difficulties. one of those situations where you can make it more challenging for yourself just by limiting how many elites you're allowed to bring or that sort of thing. setting some house rules is always an option

As a final battle about a huge sea monster it's pretty underwheling (apart from the great water effects).. i'd enjoy something more unique like the ennemy LL having some kind of unique buff/abilities (which we've seen in some quest battles) or the sea monster whacking a few times on the battlefield, and not just 4 stacks of mid-tier infantry coming at you one after each other.

This map looks great, noctilus campaign was one of the best I had, the VC roaster is neat enough, etc.. but the endgame was not that great. This battle is easy and not as epic as tomb kings or modded vortex. The final reward is ridiculous, you don't have control of amanar, it still a random (and rare) event, but this time it attacks only enemy coastal cities. What is the point if you can order this attack? As always, CA's content need time to mature and tons of mods to be really enjoyable, overpriced as fuck, bugged, balance issues, etc.. CA is like a mini Bethesda, same antics.
