Why do they compare Epica to Nightwish? To me Epica is way different, it isn’t symphonic metal, it’s more like prog-metal.

It's the other way around. Epica is more symphonic and Nightwish is more prog

Epica is more of everything than Nightwish. Except pop, Nightwish is more pop.

I mean, both are symphonic metal. Nightwish just is more symphonic and Epica more metal, and both have different side influences (celtic for nightwish and middle-eastern for epica)
