I am sure Mom and Dad need their privacy to talk about certain things that is ok for both of them like plans for things for the kids. And I am sure the kids would truly love their privacy of talking about things they want to talk about that they may not want the parents to hear. here is my suggestion: sell RV and the CVT trailer, trade your current Jeep for two Gladiators (alpha & bravo) and spread the load, then build both of them. The cost will be about the same but there will be no fighting on who to drive the Gladiator. LOL

Hi guys! Have you seen anyone use the folding bikes for the trail? I’ve been thinking of that style for its versatility not only for truck camping but sailing as well. Looking at the bike rack could it be mounted on the back of the trailer you tow vs the Jeep? We see them at the marina often but have not seen any off road versions. Europe is amazing when you go. Early summer or late summer is less crowded of tourism. Austria was my favorite.

Have you had any issue with the bike rack hitting the CVT trailer when negotiating off camber rutts and things? What would you do different with the setup if able to change it right now? I'm trying to avoid putting the tent on the top of my Jeep and I need to carry the 3 MTB's also. I second the GLADIATOR addition!
@EFRT5 жыл бұрын
LIFE TIME TOURIST - we are looking at mounting the bikes to the trailer to avoid that issue. All 5 bikes on the back of the trailer with the North Shore rack is too heavy So we are going to try mount them to the front of the trailer. We might have to put three on the back two on the front. Because we are five people we need a tent on the trailer as well as on the Jeep. There is a a lot to be said about having your tent on the trailer and not on the jeep. That way you can set up camp and leave with the Jeep without having to put down the tent. Our trailer is just used for carrying supplies. The kitchen etc. is in the jeep which is great because we always have it with us. Hope this helps.

Always enjoy your videos. My wife and I did out own Epic Adventure recently (3 weeks of hoteling and B&B's, but for us it was an adventure). The main purpose of the trip was to attend the 2019 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, UT. Awesome experience which included meeting and talking with some of your Baja buddies, Brad from TrailRecon and Marco from OvrlndX. Great guys and very personable. We also had a chance to drive a Rubicon Gladiator. Beautiful vehicle, and I think you should seriously consider (as you mentioned here) in adding that as a second vehicle. With some of the overlanding gear that EVO did for a Moab build (see build videos on Wayalife on youtube {also met Eddie from Wayalife at Moab}), you can probably sell/trade the trailer. When the Gladiator is actually available. Safe Travels and God Bless!

I would definitely consider 2 vehicles. We are 2 adults, 6 kids aged 5 to 19 and our Border Collie. We started travelling full time in Jan 2017. We have 2 Toyota Troopcarriers (V8 Turbo diesel) that take us absolutely anywhere we want to go which is mainly off-road outback areas (We are in Australia). I love hiking so that’s our main extra activity but honestly it’s the people we meet and communities we spend time in that really make this lifestyle essential for us. We are temporarily based in Far North QLD due to a few health issues but looking to be back on the road full time next year 👍🏻 It’s a bit neglected but our Facebook page is @makingourownway 😁

Just wondering if you'd consider an offroad teardrop. We had one with our JK (also towed it with a Toyota Tacoma) and loved it. You could rent one here www.rentoffthegrid.com (they also have some KZbin posts) and use it for a week or so. Seems like it would give everyone some "private" sleeping quarters as one of the RTT can be affixed to the top of the teardrop. Also, if you decided to go with a 2nd Jeep what about doing the Ursa Minor J30 pop up top. We had one on our JK so we could just take the Jeep, or we could take the Jeep and the teardrop if we wanted more of a base camp experience.
