The sadness anticipating the planet's destruction, is what it sounds like. Very moving and beautiful.

"What is it?" "For as long as I can remember, I just wanted to do what was right. I guess I'm not quite sure what that is anymore, and I thought I could throw myself back in, follow orders, serve. It's just not the same." "You were always so dramatic. Look, you saved the world. We rather mucked it up." "You didn't. Knowing you helped found S.H.I.E.L.D. is half the reason I stayed." It's gone. All of it. There was nothing I could do. I tried so hard to stop it, but I was too late. They were slain in the night and their bodies left to rot. I was too late...and now, I have nothing.
"As she fled for her life, for her people, and for their vengeance, Des took one last look behind her at the only home she ever knew. Red light from the setting suns bathed the burning city in red, staining the clouds of smoke like blood. Sorrow overcame her when she reached into her pocket and felt the destination stone against her fingers. Before her was the portal gate that would lead to safety. Behind her was everything, and everyone, she loved. Her attention was drawn to the crimson sky above the city where a bright light fell towards the earth. Realization washed over her as to what it was. Eyes wide with fear, tears began rolling down her cheeks. She could still see the armies fighting--Aiden would be with them. Her heart began slowly tearing itself in two. She wanted to run, wanted to go back so bad. But, he made her promise. There was no other way. She squeezed the stone then slid it into the carved out terminal. A portal flashed open within the gate with bright blue light, sending a rush of air past her. Des looked back and watched the light getting closer and closer. She didn't get the chance to notice that she was holding her breath before a blinding flash engulfed her vision..." I might use that, actually.

(TW: depression, suicidal thoughts, and manipulation) Tommy stood at the edge of the obsidian bridge. Even from hundreds of feet below away, the heat of the lava was intense enough to blow the hair off his forehead. He clutched the shimmering compass tightly in his right hand, and tried not to break. “He burned it?” He asked the dark figure behind him. “I don’t know. I just know he doesn’t have it anymore.” “On purpose?” Dream’s voice, like his mask, remained impassive. “I think so.” Tommy turned his compass - the compass which used to point to Tubbo - over and over in his hands, feeling the crude carving of Tubbo’s name pressed against his palm. Bits of blue still clung to the edges from where Ghostbur had so carefully put the pieces together. Beneath the glass, the needle swung wildly about, searching for a north star in the nether. There was none. Tubbo had burned his compass. Not a mistake. Not an accident. As if betraying Tommy, exiling him, *forgetting* him wasn’t enough, Tubbo no longer even cared if he was dead or alive. In every way that really mattered, he had burned *Tommy*. “Well then,” Tommy said, “If that’s how we’re playing things…" Tommy extended his hand past the end of the bridge, holding the compass out over the boiling stone. Once, it had been something precious. Now, it was nothing more than a hunk of iron and redstone with a bit of netherite. Nothing more. Maybe even less. Broken, because the thing it pointed to no longer mattered. Nothing mattered. But Tommy couldn’t let go. He tried, but his fingers remained locked around it, so tightly that for a moment he worried it might shatter in his hand. He was frozen above the fire, his arm itching with the heat, watching the needle spin and spin and spin. Out of control. Everything was out of control. Tommy wasn’t sure of anything anymore. From the beginning, it had always only ever been him and Tubbo against the world. Even when everyone else had abandoned him, Tubbo had been there. In the L’Manberg revolution, during the Disc War, during the festival… The image of Tubbo in his arms, his chest blown apart by one of Techno’s rockets, exploded into his mind, the rage and fear and sorrow of that moment in time rising up so real and strong it choked him. What was he thinking? What was he *doing*? He couldn’t destroy the compass. He couldn’t burn his Tubbo. His best friend. But…but Tubbo had burned him. What was Tommy without Tubbo by his side? He could feel his mind spinning, spinning, spinning in circles like the needle on the compass, scrambling for something, anything to keep him steady, keep him sane, keep him with his feet planted on the bridge. It was only Dream’s hand on his shoulder which stopped him, the other already gently but firmly closing over the compass, pulling Tommy back from the edge. The tears Tommy had struggled the whole time to keep back slid down his cheeks as he pressed the compass to his chest. Dream was saying something, but Tommy didn’t hear. He pushed back from the rough netherite armor and began stumbling down the bridge towards the Hub. He couldn’t see the needle on the compass anymore. He could barely see the bridge. But he could see the faintly purple glow of the portal growing stronger in the distance. He didn’t know what he would do when he got there. He stopped only a few feet away from the portal. The particles swirled around him, inviting him forward. He lifted one foot to step through, stopped himself, and stepped back again. The compass continued to spin. “I just want to go home, Dream.” He said plaintively. “Please can I go home?” Dream was silent behind his mask for a few moments, then said, “I’ll tell you what, would you like to see the Christmas tree? Just a quick trip. A few seconds.” Dream walked towards the portal, preparing to step through. “No. I mean can I go home to stay?” Tommy asked, still staring at the compass. Dream tightened a strap on his gauntlet. “It’s not like they want you there anyway, Tommy.” A black hole opened inside Tommy’s chest and he felt himself crumbling into it. Because Dream was right. No one had come to see him. Those who had treated him like a wounded animal, offering him trinkets and toys to make him feel batter, or like some curiosity on display for the world. They didn’t care about him. Dream was urging him towards the portal now, but Tommy stepped back. “No,” he said. “Aw, c’mon,” Dream said. “Twenty seconds, and we’ll come right back.” Tommy was empty. His tears had stopped. “No.” He said. “Let’s just go home.” And he began walking back towards his portal. Not towards L’Manberg. That wasn’t home anymore. There was nothing there for him anymore. He put the compass back in his pocket and kept walking. Behind his mask, Dream began to smile.
