Wouldn't call it killer instinct, feels like preparation is not up to par... nowadays LPL/LCK got so much better at objective setups/rotations while the west seems completely clueless, when in the past it was one of the reasons FNC/G2 were actually competitive

While I don’t disagree with you, I think it’s incorrect to use this game as the example. Playing 4 melees into Jax/Rakan/Orianna is a NIGHTMARE. You can see this multiple times in the game where they try to jump in to blow someone up and rakan charms them, Jax’s counterstrike stifles the damage, and then ori ult ruins them.

@@TheVegoranThe whole reason why I was a huge EU fans like 5 years ago were because FNC/G2 were the ONLY teams in Worlds who would win before the 20 min mark, all other teams including LCK and LPL just kept playing for late game macro plays. Some games back then could last up to 50 min long. So it’s nice that Those Extremely good teams learnt from the West.

In coordinated pro play, why don't teams use the threat of baron to expand their gold lead for 10-15 minutes? If I'm C9 for that first baron, I'd shove top and mid, rotate 4 to the red side jungle to get camps and establish vision control. Yone splits bot with TP into Jax, shoves the wave and grabs blue side camps while Jax catches waves. Choke Fanatic out of resources until they either force a fight for vision control or are down 1-2 items per player. Back as 5 to get your item spike, shove all 3 lanes, reestablish baron vision all the way to their base, take camps, rotate Yone after he shoves bot. Rumble, Yone, and Nautilus hold vision control, slowly giving ground while Xayah and Jarvan duo baron. Peel off of baron and take a fight on your vision with 1-2 item lead per player if Fanatic overextends to steal. Why is this not the standard pro meta for baron setup?

Because you described a good movie story. Reality is that the opossing team has a say in the matter. This fancy ideas have high variable count and for each variable the standard devation is absurdly high. In simpler words; too risky. Pro play is about consistency and low risk. And thats why they all play what seems the same "stale" strategy. But its actual the optimal way of playing the game. I.e. how the top teams play the game.

You hit on a lot of things that really good teams actually do sometimes. What you aren't understanding is that doing this is punishable by the team that's behind if you make any small mistake. If your sideliner gets caught out taking enemy jungle camps. If you lose a fight 4v5 on the other side of the map. And the big one is that you have to reset eventually to spend this gold advantage, and whenever you do that the other team has a chance to get vision control, or even worse, try to rush an objective while your entire team is off the map. That's the biggest reason why teams don't usually play that slow paced style anymore. Every minute baron is on the map is another minute you need to make sure the enemy team doesn't get it. It's much easier to just take it and get something for it as well as make sure they don't take it.

Sylas, akali, azir, orianna, Renekton, Xayah, Poppy, Jarvan IV, Rakan, Alistar, Kalista, Maokai, Sejuani, Jax, and Lee Sin. Maybe if they're feeling daring they'll play an "off meta" pick aka a normal champion with a decent WR.

Dude.. Look at even a few months ago at MSI: Sylas, Akali, Ori, J4, Kalista, Lee Sin - nowhere to be seen in that tournament. And your list for this year doesn't even include a large number of the big picks at this Worlds... Kai'sa, Neeko, Rumble, Rell, Trist, Jayce, Syndra, Aatrox, Taliyah. Over 70 different champs have been picked, and more than half of them have been played more than once.
