Thank you for this lecture Professor Sadler. I first got to know about this distinction of Epictetus, in a small book of his called "Of Human Freedom" by penguin classics. An amazing little book that is so much bigger than the size of it. Being confident (External) and cautious (Internal) at the same time is something truly paradigm shifting that i learned from Epictetus. It completely changed my view of how i would be operating with more freedom. Great analysis and breakdown, once again thank you.

Dr. Sadler, to what degree do you believe that Stoicism influenced Christianity and to what degree were they similar?
@GregoryBSadler6 жыл бұрын
Far too big of a question for a KZbin comment answer. Pretty much every main school of Greek philosophy influenced some Christian thinkers

Riding the tiger? The tiger is just a brute reality (indifferent), but it still has to be taken seriously?
@GregoryBSadler8 жыл бұрын
+Anekantavad Well, it certainly would be prudent to take it seriously!
