------------
Ueli Steck’s journey has led him to some of the hardest mountains in the Alps, into towering spines above Chamonix, France. There he joins his old friends and makes new ones with every peak. The climbing gets more technical and more challenging here but it doesn’t stop Ueli moving forward in his challenge, bagging peak after peak on his way toward the Italian side of the Mont Blanc massif. There he spends lot of time in the Torino hut which gives him amazing access to many surrounding 4000m peaks. In the Torino hut Ueli Steck meets up with Dutch alpinist Martijn Seuren who, during the ascent of one of the alpine peaks, tragically dies in an accident on Grandes Jorasses.
Join Ueli and the team as they battle their way through the highs and lows of a very classic alpine challenge in the Alps. EpicTV and Goal Zero present "The Classic Alpinist”, a special 4-part series. Come back for the final part on 5th of January.

@@et803 yeah Honnold is a big wall speed climber, not the same thing as high altitude alpinism and the level of fitness required to just keep the body running and your brain functioning with that little oxygen and at those extreme temperatures. Although Alex is a beast too but it's not the same field really, straight rock climbing and alpinism overlap to some extent but they're not the same thing and require different skillsets

I often find these types of comments on deaths involving extreme sports. I get these words provide some comfort for a loss but honestly is just total BS. He's still dead and I'm alive. What is considered "full" is also completely subjective. People can feel fully content and "alive" without doing extreme activities. It just depends from person to person. Some people need extremes for that while others don't. What matters is if you still exist or not. When you're dead, that's it. You don't experience anything anymore. In the end, he's dead, I'm not and that's all that matters no matter what you say. Btw, before anyone would accuse me of never having felt alive I did about 900 skydive jumps over a couple of years before quitting, 500 done swooping (1 competition) and about 50 wingsuit (including flying a 30 man formation in France...exceptional for a rookie wingsuiter) and the rest were regular RW fair and fun.

@@lewistaylor2858 He might have been a better climber but he was also a bigger asshole. When the sherpas are setting up the ladders and fixed ropes in the Khumbu Icefall they ask people not to climb above them for safety reasons.
