Hint on regrowing the pineapple. Don't cut off the top. Grasp all the leaves in one hand, the pineapple in the other, and just twist off the leaves. The leaves will come off with just enough base to grow, without the ring of fruit that will just rot. You can also cut those leaves in quarters, top to bottom, and grow 4 (smaller) pineapples.

I really love this! I grew up watching my parents garden in a communal plot, growing Chinese vegetables from seeds my relatives would send them, way before e-commerce was a thing. And that pride of being able to grow food that was hard for them to find here made a lasting impact on me and fueled a lifelong love of gardening. Please host a whole chef series!! This was so much fun to watch.

Would love to see something like this with Filipino food. We lived in Hawaii for several years and had Filipino colleagues/friends who taught us how to make a few different dishes like adobo, pancit and lumpia. I made and fried about 200 lumpia at my best friend's wedding reception and didn't get to eat a single one, they got scooped up so fast. There is nothing better that picking your dinner from your garden - so delicious and satisfying.
