i grew up eating watermelon with seeds and i hated when everyone started switching to seedless because i found them gross and mushy. i didn't eat watermelon for years. they're okay now. i think i'll try growing my own with seeds next year, tho

Last year I buried a fish carcass, what was left after filleting, about every foot or so about 8 inches deep, and planted my Indian corn right on top. It got 16 feet tall, no joke! But when a storm rolled through when they just started tasseling, it broke lots and blew over most. Got a small harvest, but it was beautiful until it wasn’t.

Haha seedless watermelon in the 90s was almost unheard of. If we ate seedless watermelon it was a very, VERY special treat! Now it’s hard to find seeded watermelons, but that’s why we grow them.

That sprayer is great for that area, better than drip. We replaced our front drip irrigation with two warblers. Its spreads the water better and creates a better fake rain. Drip is good for beds and trees like your orchard. But a mass planting in any large space it struggles.

Mayo Yellow Seedless watermelon, from Native Seeds/SEARCH. It grew up my palo verde tree(also grown from a seed from the Chandler Public library parking lot). Dangly little balls, about the size of a kid's basketball. Super sweet, drought and heat tolerant. Seedless.
