@@ouzolovesIt's most likely your first option. Nobody uses a third of a jar of mayo on a few burgers. That means the chef is getting taken advantage of for shopping at a "better quality" store for the exact same products. Or maybe it's just that the show made a mistake.

@@ouzoloves I think you're on to something. They probably bought the cheap tray at a regular supermarket, and the high-end tray at like Banducci's/Marky's/other gourmet supermarket where you'd find the esoteric stuff as well as stuff like mayo; and the mayo will totally be 3x as expensive at one of the gourmet stores, even if it is the same brand.

If it was "$20 burger vs $75 dollar burger," it wouldn't be as exciting for people to watch. I'm surprised there wasn't truffle in this one, or bottarga on all the noodle videos like this just to increase the price dif.

meh, $60 for just the Tawny port to make a marmalade that you will slather a tablespoon onto the burger? Yeh, some of these ingredients gets just way too much. Realistically though, her $21 ingredients looks probably sufficient for maybe 4 to 6 burgers, sizes for a family meal, so costs seem reasonable at maybe $4 or $5 each burger.

I think the idea with the prices is that it's for everything they bought, and probably ideally serves 3-4 people. See the amount of tomatoes Gina had, she had a whole package of cheese, and look at the amount of meat in Eric's recipe. So it's divided by 3 or 4/ serving.
