I'd imagine it be a similar sort of situation as it is with wine, i.e. you can't really tell the difference. Sure, you can tell the difference between watered down crap like Budweiser, but once you get into actual real beer, it would be very difficult to guess the price just based on taste, since beer (like wine) is super complex and taste is subjective.

If The B vinegar sauce is Tabasco, the salt he picked up on is from the fermentation process, they store the pepper mash in old jack Daniels whiskey barrels, and are then covered with a cap of salt from the salt domes around Avery island. The salt cap forms a one way valve allowing gasses to escape from the fermenting peppers, but not allowing oxygen in.

It looks like maybe they lost some footage and had to re shoot but forgot to put the letters back
@GilbertTheFish_
@GilbertTheFish_ 6 жыл бұрын
They edit the footage so we, the viewers, can view it in chronological order, in a way. The information is presented to us before they expose the price. Before editing, he had already opened the hot sauces and he was explaining the smell and other details of each hot sauce. At the 3:50 mark did you notice the clip was cut and pasted?
@troodon1096
@troodon1096 5 жыл бұрын
There's no conspiracy or artifice here; they clearly did this in multiple takes and are editing them together. But they had to blur out the prices since they used a clip where they were already showing, to present them in correct chronological order.
@baller7387
@baller7387 5 жыл бұрын
@@troodon1096 that doesn't remotely explain why he was clearly in the process of reviewing the hot sauces prior to making any assessment about their price while the prices were already exposed. the clip itself isn't pieced together, and he is in the phase where he is only beginning to scope out which might be the more expensive sauce, so the whole they used a clip where they were already showing idea doesn't make sense. the prices should not be showing if Noah has not even begun to make a decision as to which sauce is more expensive in the same clip, it's as simple as that.
@baller7387
@baller7387 5 жыл бұрын
@@GilbertTheFish_ this explanation doesn't make sense when you consider the format of the show. the process is supposed to be chronological, so why is Noah ostensibly just beginning to analyze the sauces when the prices have already been revealed? the way I see it, this can mean one of two things. Either they somehow lost the footage, had to reshoot, and forgot to put the letters back. Or the expert takes a look at the prices prior to "guessing" which product is more expensive, he simply forgot to put the cards back, and for whatever reason they decided to leave this in.

@sizableyeet
@sizableyeet 6 жыл бұрын
Da Bomb also has orange juice as an ingredient which would explain the “citrus note” he smells at the beginning. However, I would guess that the other sauce isn’t The Last Dab (it would have to be the Carolina reaper edition given the peppers he tastes) because the entire Last Dab series are mustard based sauces with significant turmeric notes (which are noticeably absent from his description). I’ve had The Last Dab (in all its editions) a few times now, and if I can taste the mustard and turmeric this guy definitely can.
