I honestly love that Epidemius is un-nurgly in personality. He's the Tax-man, and nobody likes a taxman. Epidemius is the kinda guy where if you ask a great unclean one about him they'll go "by the grandfather that guy SUCKS. He takes all the fun out of what we do!"

@@josephdoria5237 Exactly, Daemons of Nurgle weren't always they happy group they are. It was changed in 8th edition/6th or 7th ed 40k, so that they were more loveable and it's only gotten worse. I much prefer the dark and gritty or grim aspect to daemons of chaos and what got me to start playing them in WHFB.

@@kinkymustard2301 I think the Chaos God that has one of their few positive traits as stoicism should have their daemons be more cheerful and happy to be in Warhammer compared to everyone else. It also gives the Daemons more variety. Nurgle daemons and mortal followers actually being cheery is also a great contrast to how terrible their mere passive existence is for everyone else.

@@Bayonet1809 I'm pretty sure its because they knew they couldn't start TWW3 with a combined map. probably because asking people when the game released that they also needed to buy two other games just wasn't in the options. and given this in the time Covid was at its worse they still needed to have 3 come out as its own thing the same way they needed 2 and I doubt SEGA would let them essentially give 2 games out for free.

Chaos Realm Battle Maps should be used when an area is at 100% corruption. There's so much detail and effort put into them and it's sad to see them languish

yeah, it's particularly weird that even the actual Realms of Chaos map doesn't use them for newer campaigns. the Champions of Chaos only use those maps for their item quest battles (and those battles don't even use the Storm of Magic mechanics that regular battles in the Realms of Chaos do) and Chaos Dwarfs and Shadows of Change just ignored them entirely, I doubt Thrones of Decay will go there either. even the map where they have been placed top and centre with the entire map warped to curve around them doesn't even use them anymore and it's a huge shame because they were probably the best thing about the Soul Race.

I agree with you with the realms of chaos stuff. I typed up a fairly long-winded Reddit post on how CA could even implement it without causing any undo harm to the I.E map. Anyway, I hope they do implement it because it is actually a fun place to be and I really like the challenge of it.

in terms of implementing it they've even left a pretty huge gap in the north-east corner of the world where the land just... ends... unless they actually plan on adding the Realms of Chaos at some point that corner is just going to be pointless and empty forever. personally I always hoped that they added it as a relatively normal area (just with the Storm of Magic system for battles) with settlements and stuff habitible to the Daemons but uninhabitable (basically just tier 1 outposts) for any other race. have it linked via rifts to the northern and southern Chaos Wastes and let Chaos factions open rifts to and from the Chaos Realms in provinces with high corruption. link the Great Game mechanic of the Daemons to how the war and various corruption levels within the Realms is going (if Tzeentch is taking over bits of Khorne and Nurgle's domains he should be the one in the slot for the Great Game)

Ku'gath, N'kari and Kairos could actually start in the Realms of Chaos settlements instead, and special Cultist heroes could be spawned through Unholy Manifestations and used to spread corruption and open rifts etc. When not playing as those factions, the AI can be fairly passive, but launch invasions at set times. As long as the player knew in advance, it shouldn't be too obnoxious.

I can see CA integrating the Realms of Chaos into Immortal Empires in one of two ways. Either by simply expanding the world map northwards and blending them all together. Or by including the portal mechanic into Immortal Empires as an endgame crisis where portals spawn as they do in the other campaign, strong armies spawn from them and defeating the battle in each realm prevents that god's armies from spawning next time.

Although maybe near the end of releases do a End times map, Immortal Empires but with the deamons having to fight their way out of their own realms andspreading like a dark tide from the poles while the warriors of chaos are rising up through the realms?

Honestly, it would be cool if there was a game mode where they added demonic settlements to each realm of chaos and that is where all the demon factions start. They can vassalize or confederate the other factions that reside in their realm, the only way you can leave the chaos realms is through cultist's/warbands that travel the world to establish gateways. But the only way to remove a gateway is if it's destroyed by a mortal faction which gives them the opportunity to invade the chaos wastes and wipe the demons out.

If the blue scribes job seems impossible, it pales in comparison to this guy. Don’t know if I’m reading to deep in this, but hopefully with the addition of Epidemus as a FLC means that they are willing to free out the roadmap to allow for a lot more FLC’s for the chaos mono-god factions to truly flesh out and showcase what each has to offer. Nurgle has always been my personal favourite chaos faction with the most interesting characters I want to see animated in the game (and could provide interesting campaigns if given the LL treatment) such as the Glotkin, the Maggoth riders, and Gutrot Spume, but I’ve been fearing that their is just to little time to possibly ever see these guys. The mono-god factions as a whole all have bunch different unique designs and characters within their faction and I really hope this game can showcase that aspect of them rather than have them just be “the big evil monster guys”.

They need to link the maps to corruption and have a chance to show up and have that give god related items as a % post battle drop chance. Or just go the easy route and make them show up in chaos wastes land types so you can at least increase the battle map diversity since it’s such a warped place and could make sense for the realms to blend together.

Realms of Chaos have got to be opened up and I think the ability to also teleport around the map via chaos rifts would add a huge amount of variety to IE campaigns. Imagine getting to TP to any continent if you don’t like your fave character’s start position. All of this could be a toggleable setting too.

Just make it so random portals open up in the chaos wastes (or places with high corruption) every 10 or so turns. Armies can then use those portals to travel to their choice of realm, which would act as a sort of dungeon where a powerful enough army can search for unique items and battle demonic armies in exchange for traits and blessings. Then, instead of fighting a demon prince for its soul, have an exit at the end of each realm that transports you to where you left the map. EDIT: You could even add a corruption system (similar to Realms of Chaos) where armies that overstay their welcome have increasingly harsh debuffs placed on them.

I trhink a cool way to add chaos realm in IE would be just for the deamonic factions, give those unique quests and mechanics to battle it out in the chaos realm, with their own personal armies and currency, and every X turns a winner is decided and that one is 'ascending' giving that faction bonusses on the IE map. In that regard Daniel as a faction could sort of choose how he helps or who he helps and at the end of a ascendency cycle, he would gain rewards depending on how he helped. I don't feel the need to add the mortal races in the chaos realm, it would be impossible for them to survive there for any amount of time, and why would some factions even bother going there (IE vampire coast, wood elves)

Easy way to insert RoC into IM: Chaos Invasion Endgame Crisis. Don't even have to use the annoying RoC portal mechanic, just use the fixed portals that can already be opened by Chaos factions.

I find myself hopeful for Epidemius. I really do hope they have him supercharge plaguebearers, they’re units I genuinely want to use. I also can’t think of them doing this ever being a bad thing. Yes, yes, yes the Chaos Realms have to be in Immortal Empires as a "War in Heaven" option for the Chaos factions at least.
