not sure if im supposed to talk about this, but back then, there was a controversy revolving around Tablo's educational background and speculations that his achievements were forged (which they refer to as Tajinyo - We demand the truth from Tablo). It really took a toll on not just him but his family, and his father passed away in the midst of everything, which he later confessed that Tajinyo played a role in his passing

The song holds so much regret and pain due to Tablo's father passing away and the lyrics really show how he wants Haru to never go through the same pain he had to due to the blinding shining lights of a successful career that can be destroyed in a few days due to a baseless rumour. When Tablo says " Icarus lives" I think he is referring to himself as in the mythology, Daedalus(father of Icarus) made Icarus wings out of wax and feathers.Icarus was warned not to fly too closely to the sun, but he did and died. I think here Tablo is referring that he survived the malicious comments of TaJinYo and is living happily now (or so I would like to believe)

국내 리스너들이 흔히들 펀치라인이라 하면 언어유희를 통한 이중적 의미를 둔 구절이라고 생각하죠. 펀치라인이란 단어의 사전적 의미는 없지만 물론 그 출발은 위와 같은 맥락입니다. 허나 힙합이 점점 대중화 되면서 갱스터랩, 디스랩 등에서 벗어나 한편의 '음악'으로서의 한 장르로 자리매김하면서 부터 랩 자체의 장르도 많이 발전하고 자신의 철학과 경험담을 담은 랩, 사랑을 노래하는 감성랩 등이 등장하면서 부터 펀치라인이란 단어의 추상적 의미는 상대를 공격하는 언어유희구절이 아닌 한 벌스에서서 많은 의미를 담는, 또 강한 임팩트를 남기는 구절을 통상 펀치라인이라고 얘기합니다. 힙합에 있어 펀치라인이 중요요소로 자리매김 하면서 부터 국내 랩퍼들도 어느순간 작사를 하는데 있어 이런 펀치라인 구절을 상당히 많이 신경 쓰게 되고 요즘 나오는 대부분의 벌스들에는 꼭 펀치라인이 한~두 구절씩 들어가는 편입니다. 리스너들 입장에서는 듣는 귀가 즐거워지니 물론 좋은현상이지만 개인적으로 저는 펀치라인을 너무 의식한 나머지 벌스자체가 흐름이 없고 조금 억지스러워지지 않나.. 라고 느끼는 편입니다. 이런 저에게 에픽하이, 특히 타블로의 음악은 항상 독보적입니다. 플레이를 멈추고 가사를 한구절 한구절 읽어보세요. 벌스1 아니 노래가 시작하고 끝나는 그 순간까지 브리지, 아웃트로를 포함해서 단 한구절도 버릴 구절이 없습니다. 국내에서, 아니 전세계를 통틀어서 한마디 한마디를 전부 펀치라인으로 채울 수 있는 래퍼가 몇이나 될까요? 아니 존재는 할까요? 그렇다고 노래 자체의 흐름이 조금이라도 억지스럽거나 부자연스러운 부분이 있나요? 저에게 있어 무언가 힙합으로서의 크나큰 감동을 주는게 아닌, 예술로써 가슴 깊숙히 강한 울림을 주는 노래는 항상 타블로의 음악이였습니다. 10년 넘게 플레이리스트에 힙합 장르 밖에 존재 하지 않는 저에게 타블로는 힙합 그 이상의 또 하나의 '타블로'라는 새로운 음악의 장르로 어느새 자리잡혀있습니다. 뜬금포지만.. 정말 동시대에 살게 해주셔서, 또 2003년부터 현 시점까지 다른길이 아닌 자신의 소신을 담은 에픽하이만의 음악을 해주셔서 개인적으로 너무너무 감사드린다고 꼭 전해드리고 싶었습니다. 항상 응원합니다 고맙습니다. 타블로

asd z 과거에 살았다면 시인이었을 에픽하이. 이런 음유시인이 타진요로 날린 시간이 너무 안타깝네요. 신을 믿진 않지만 종교에 관심이 있어서 어느정도 이해는 있는데 타블로 노래에 숨겨져 있는 종교적인 의미들이 가슴을 파고 듭니다. 종교뿐만이 아닌 사랑을 노래할 때도 사회를 노래 할때도 외로움을 노래할때도 무슨 주제가 되었든 가사가 어찌나 의미가 좋고 아름다운지 너무 좋습니다.

매우 동감합니다. 제 주변 친구들을 비롯한 대다수의 젊은층들은 음악을 들을 때 멜로디보다 가사를 중시한다고들 하는데 에픽하이 노래 들려주면서 가사가 좋은 노래는 이런 거다, 또한 좋은 멜로디가 선행되어야만 진정성 있는 가사의 의미를 온전히 느낄 수 있음을 알려주고 싶습니다. 무게 없는 감성 노래의 가사들에 취해 있는 사람들이 한 번쯤 꼭 들어봤으면 하는.. 에픽하이와 타블로씨가 이 댓글 꼭 읽으시면 좋겠네요. 아티스트로서 너무 감동적이고 동기부여가 될 댓글인 듯 합니다.
