Another benefit of one hook is that when the back hook does not stick in outside of the fish's head, it often damages the leader as the fish twists and turns. When this happens the line feels as if it's being plucked like a guitar string. When you feel that plucking, you can check your leader and see the damage.

Excellent comment - I started fishing just one hook on all my Magic Swimmers, Glidebaits and Metal Lips last year. Haven't noticed any difference and makes for an easier release. Just left a flag or blade spinner on the back.

I been telling everyone I come across to remove the back hooks or just keep a siwash on back if blues are around but wouldn't mind picking up one of your cousins lures I like the concept

Great video .well are hooked on the lips with a single book and are 15 " and longer . I use single trebled with all my wood and use inline singles with my plastic swimmers
