I used to own one like this but sold it again, I hated the neck dive (I'm talking 90s model), then considered buying it again because the Gibson Antique Natural was sold out and it was gonna take a year to restock, then I found 1 store in EU that still had 1 Gibson, miraculously, I immediately bought it for nostalgic reasons, I used to own a 1975 Flying V back in the 70s, sold it again in the 80s, always regretted that. Now I own its newer version. But Epiphone is becoming the new Gibson cheaper range.

How in the world can you play a V like that? It looks like it's gonna slide off any moment.

They add a rubber strip out of the factory that sits on your thigh so it doesn’t slide.
@reddsshaker34773 жыл бұрын
It is a little awkward in that position. I simply set the crotch of the V down over my right leg. Perfect playing position.

Not sure what your motivation was for using a Mesa for clean tones and a Marshall for the dirt . A demo showing how the guitar sounds through each one is only good if you show how it sounds through each channel of BOTH amps in my opinion. This could've been a great demo only if... Not trying to bust yer balls, just offering a little constructive criticism 😉

I should not be tempted by this model, but I somehow am. May only be because of the fact that I had the Explorer before, I am tempted by the styling again but would prefer having a guitar that isn’t just “taking up space”.
@Shred_The_Weapon2 жыл бұрын
Easier typed than done, @Ye Fartz, but thanks. I broke down in December 2021 and purchased an Epi Flying V from the series they exclusively marketed in Canada in 2009, the Negative series. After that, I swapped out the stock pickups for the Gibson zebra pickups I already had. It doesn’t have coil tapping, but that isn’t essential for my style anyhow. Neither does it frankly take up a lot of space like the Explorer did. I call that guitar Edgar, since it looks almost like an albino version of the traditional V.
