I'm looking at the Les Paul Studio LT from Epiphone.
Maple body, curved top, dual humbucker, rosewood fingerboard. And all for under 300$/300€
Is it worth the money?

Thanks ;)

I think the jump from the VE is a big one but I can’t help with this guitar thinking the extra hundred to the Studio or Worn Classic gets you a much better built guitar and a better mod platform. Good video. Hopefully it’ll convince people going for the VE to at least stop and aim for this if they want LP. I’m with you though affinity is so much more versatile at that price.

Got this guitar like 2 or 3 years ago til this day It's holding up having no probs with tuning and stuff. I actually changed my bridge pick up a month ago and let me say it is much more OP.

With the tones you got out of this guitar I wouldn't see any need for replacing the pickups. It sounds excellent.

I have that exact guitar in black and straight out of the box I was quite surprised at the build. The neck was slightly bowed, which some prefer, but 1/4 turn of the neck adjuster straightened it out perfectly. I found no high or low frets and the fret ends were acceptably smooth, some may want touch them up a bit. The strings were a bit too heavy for my liking and I changed them to the D'addario NYXL 10-46. My only curiosity is that the G string seems to be more sensitive than the others. I adjusted the pickups to 1/8 on the low strings to 1/16" on the high end. I may play with the G string individual pole to see if that will help. The fret board seems a tad rough when doing any vibrato or stretches as you're sliding against the grain, so next string change I'll polish the fret board using 3000 to 12000 grit sandpaper and lemon oil and may as well polish the frets with a dremel (I like mine like chrome) making sure to use fret guards as to not to touch the wood. All in all it's a very decent guitar (made by Gibson) for the money. I don't know yet if I'm going to pour any more money into this guitar as, for the time being, is sufficient for my needs. Fell free to ask any question or comments.

Thanks for the review. Raw beginner here! I bought one yesterday in black as well. Do you know the reason why some want the neck slightly bowed?

I've got one the same except they changed the name from LT to E1 apparently. My only issue with it is the glass black finish shows every single fingerprint and light scratch up lol. I'm most likely going to go over it with some sort of abrasive to turn it into a matt finish. I've put a brass truss rod cover on it, and gold control knobs and put brass 'finger shredder' control knob markers on it. I plan on making brass back plates from sheet brass. Mine cost £220, or a bit more with a fazely hard case. I love the thing, it's great.

What do you think of one of these as a project guitar to swap out hardware on and make it something your own? Someone local to me is selling a barely used one for $100. I'm researching them which is how i found your video. I'm considering picking it up and using as a project to swap out hardware but I'm curious if the overall build quality is worth the effort

For 100$ I would give it a go. Perhaps upgrade the tuners along with some cool new pickups. I didn’t have any tuning issues, but I’ve seen many others complain about it. For 100$ you can’t go wrong :)

I've ordered this exact model. is it playable outside the box?
@stiansyltaguitar
@stiansyltaguitar Жыл бұрын
That depends. I´ve tried 3 guitars at the retailer I work, including the one I bought. Two of them were ready to go, (after tuning up) one needed some adjustments with the bridge. So in my limited experience there is 66% chance that the guitar doesn´t need a set-up :)

@@effinecko I think the ideal les paul string gauge is 10's. I've always used 9's on my jap squier strat.

Hey. Absolutely. The bridge Humbucker kan get you that nice overdreven Palm muted chug sound that is so popular with bands like Green Day and Blink182. Pair it up with a good amp and you are ready to go.

Is it just me or does the pickups look wrong? Not traditional zebra. Shouldn't the bridge be reversed to look more uniform.

Do you recommend it for beginners?
@stiansyltaguitar
@stiansyltaguitar 2 жыл бұрын
Hey. Depends on the size of the beginner. For a teen or adult, If It’s about budget, then I recomend it as a great option for a Les Paul type guitar. Quality wise it is similar to a Bullet Squier, maybe even affinity series. Great value for money but not the same quality as a standard Epiphone or a Classic Vibe Squier. But for a young beginner (child/preteen) I would look at a 3/4 Squier or perhaps the new Power Player Epiphones. Hard to go wrong with anything from Epiphone and Squier today. I play everything from Bullet to CS guitars at work every day and todays cheap is way better than yesteryears cheap guitars :)

If it doesn't stay in tune, just put the strings in wrapped around the tailpiece (backwards), and it will sort the tuning issues
