Another great video. An aspect that a lot of people overlook. They’re more focused on the proper GTO play, pre and post flop charts, bankroll management. But if you’re already mentally defeated before you walk in the door, none of that stuff matters. I’m personally taking a hiatus from poker to focus on what matters, a clear and confident mind. Well afterwards, when you know the cards it all makes sense. I want to see anybody who is so confident in his reads that folds OTF or even Turn. Of course you can see that with the camera angles and slow motion of the movements of his posture. But in the moment it is very hard to notice all that, especially playing stakes above your normal comfort zone. I wouldn't beat myself too much about that. You could also interpret his sizings ( I don't want to risk too much in bluffing my whole stack) or his behavior (I want to be perceived as strong OTF/OTT)

This is why we differentiate between the intuitive voice and the fearful voice. The intuitive voice knows. The fearful voice thrives on “you can trust yourself.”

This is what we do in our course Deeper Than Poker. The first step is identifying the belief that “I’m not good enough to trust myself” because that’s the thought that causes us to make the turn and river call when we know we are beat. To play poker at the highest level requires us to trust ourselves unconditionally especially when the tendency is to make “standard” and “safe” play.

Great idea. My warm ups have two important parts - 1. Physical movement, something to get the energy flowing throughout the body, and 2. Mental warm up, something to create clarity and awareness of who is at the wheel. What thoughts/beliefs/inner dialogues are present and what do they want/need to feel heard, loved, and safe…otherwise they will be the ones playing poker for us.

I finally quit after many years. Couldn't justify basically grifting from super degenerates anymore. Poker is simply glorified grifting. Taking from suckers who often can't afford to be losing that money
