Super fun to watch! I’m just getting into Battletech too. Just FYI: In Alpha Strike, the effects of damage aren’t resolved until the end phase, so mechs that are destroyed before they shoot can still shoot during the combat phase (otherwise winning the initiative would be a disadvantage). This also means critical hits do not affect a unit on the turn they’re inflicted.

It would be great, but none of Battletech's RPGs have been very good (not that D&D is). Destiny comes close but some people feel like they don't have enough direction, meanwhile A Time of War was crunchy in a way that even people like me who really like crunchy RPGs found sort of unplayable. Battletech itself (rather than flavorless Alpha Strike)? Hell yeah, gimmie more, always. And I *want* a good RPG. Heck I want something closer to A Time of War where there's lots of support for stuff other than just playing as MechWarriors all the time. BattleTech is a wonderful setting in general and I think it really shines when it's not focused on mechs to the point of feeling like a annoying cliche.

@@Kayriel No, I'm really not sure ot ever was. Modern iterations of B/X are pretty good but D&D's weird, arbitrary skill tables? No thank you. Mechanically D&D was always an ugly duckling.

Depends on the time period. If they're running this in the current era, it's been nearly a century since the invasion, the Clans have been around for a long time. It could be argued that the Houses would still never give anyone else salvage rights but stuff would still fall through the cracks, and Clan Sea Fox has been roaming around selling to whoever they believe worthy enough to buy.
