What is great about Sukhwinder is that he has his own individual style. In this post-Kishore era of film music, many singers are simply aping (in the name of 'emulating')Kishore Kumar because, for reasons not difficult to guess, he is the easiest to ape. Nobody can dare to copy Mukesh, Talat and Manna Dey. You need great voice and intense training to do that. But Sukhwinder is a creative artist who knows his individual strength and limitations. Listening to him is a great experience.

You can make your mark ultimately by your own individuality, not by playing a second fiddle to anyone. There has been only one Rafi, Mukesh, Talat and Kishore. And they all have left the world. No one else can become any of them. Trying to become better than them is a crime (if it is that) is worth committing.
