I'm an INTP too, and I'm actually pretty good at this. I can see what most of the questions are checking for. And I've done this just to prove how inaccurate the tests are. But in this particular case where you are trying to answer for all 16 types, I would try and answer how all 16 types would for each question before going to the next. So I would only have to take the test once, and then take it again just to test my entries to see if I was right. Another thing is that depending on the type, I think some would answer more on how they felt in the moment rather than over all, or how they would like to be seen as, whether than how they are. For example S vs N types (who see the Big picture or are more in the moment). Especially those with dominant or auxiliary Se Function (aka SP types). Or maybe even F types. I don't think they realize that they do this.

I also used to do this with the MMPI test long ago.

16personalities uses the NERIS model, which is a sort of combination of big five and mbti (the type names). So first, introversion and extroversion can be easy to distinguish, intuition is like openness in big five, so the more imaginative and creative answers you input into the test, the more likely it is you're gonna score N. F and T are easy to differentiate, and lastly J in 16personalities is an equivalent to conscientiousness, so saying you make schedules, are on time, plan your vacations etc. Will likely give you a J on your result.

So if you're using the 16personalities site to get the 16 types, it's better to not think about cognitive functions at all and just use the 4 letter dichotomies to guide you

@@franskel9647oh that’s helpful bc I kept focusing on Fe and Si type answers with some Ne sprinkled in But if you just focus on the letters that’s a bit different :))

Watching him do the test made me intrigued to know if I could be in the mind of the ESFJ as an INTP. I cannot believe I actually did it, I got ESFJ-T I’m shocked.

That’s awesome!! It’s such an interesting challenge to think so differently through those questions.

Like franskel said, this more MBTI and big five combined. Using the the simplicity of mbti format to make big five results or traits more generalized. Hence why the fifth letter is there. The only one I know of that is mbti focused and gives free full results, is by Human Metrics.

Also I thought Si Doms and secondaries like plans and schedules? It’s different than most ppl think of “Sensor” so the J does fit there
