That intro brought a tear to my eye. I've followed Pacquiao ever since his second round TKO victory over Jorge Julio on the undercard of Lewis vs. Tyson when I was just 10 years old. Humble beginnings, now a boxing legend about to face his greatest antagonist in Floyd Mayweather, a legend in his own right. Pacquiao makes me proud to be a Filipino. Thank you, Manny, for being a big part of my childhood.

We should be proud of him for even finding time to spend doing what he likes to do, between congressional duties and all the media coverage he gets everyday, dealing with family hardships and training so god damn much. He's human being not our puppet those only does what we want him to do, let him express himself.

@matthewstephens684810 жыл бұрын
Algeri's just another guy in a long line who's managed to get dropped into a mega fight due to the fact that they can at least sell him a little. I really like him, but think of all the contenders and other champions that could've taken this fight at 144. The thing is, they don't want a really hard fight like Danny Garcia for example. No matter what they say, Chris and his team are green at this level, have never fought away from New York where he lives, Chris doesn't possess a massive punch and is of a relatively small threat to Pac. The worst case scenario is he boxes and moves and outpoints Pac in which case they'll give it to Pac anyway. I only write this as it annoys me the way they sell these fights through 24/7, All Access etc but I suppose it's just a business - never more so that when you're at Manny and Floyd's level. Their days of fighting all comers are over and rightly so I suppose, they fought hard to get to the top and now it's on their terms. This is like the Guerrero fight for Floyd - a purposefully easy fight where they can sell the fight a little and get a quick belt while they're at it. It is what it is - but they sell it as something it's not. I suppose the moral as a fan is - enjoy your favourite fighters battles on the way up because if they make it to the top they'll be few and far between. The fighter who can make money in easy fights but picks dangerous ones are even more few and far between.

It's funny how they just HAVE to keep saying "the undefeated" Chris Algieri. That's all they got. On Saturday they will not be able to say that anymore so they might as well enjoy it while they can. Pacquiao is still insanely fast and strong and will be out to prove that tomorrow night. As far as Chris goes... wayyyyyy too overconfident. That willl be the death of him. I will enjoy watching him getting destroyed. 1, maybe 3 rounds unless Manny decides to take his time. Which I doubt. This fight is a joke that should never have been made.

its very obvious that manny pacquiao is greater and better than mayweather why? because pacquaio is the only boxer who achieved ten world champion in eight different weight division. no one in the history of the world that get that title only pacquiao and no one will ever break that record, if may weather want to break pacquaio,s record he must surpass the legacy of paquiao winning 10 world champion in 8 different weight division, but mayweather cannot do that its impossible because pacquaio is the greatest boxer in the world, greater that muhammad ali period, what ever you say thats the reality and truth, and truth hurts, for those who envy pacquaio's record it hurts to them, the case, confusion and doubt now is solved. so for mayweather and camp you have to prove that you are better than pacquaio, and prove that in the ring, not with your to much words and noise in front of the camera, because that is a virtue of being a traitor

Algieri is a no nonsense fighter who respects the art of boxing enough to really take it VERY seriously. He is, in every sense of the word, a student of the game. He is never satisfied and is always striving to evolve as a fighter. Pacquiao is the complete opposite that he sometimes come off moronic to a retarded level. With decisions even an 8 year old boy would be wiser to make. He doesnt even take the full time to study his opponent the way marquez calibrates his fight plan for every fight. Pac just lets roach do all the planning. At his age he should be focusing on strength and conditioning and improving his defense. problem is, Roach was never a good defensive coach and Pac is known lately as a primadonna that his trainers are the ones who adjust to him (not the other way around). Roaches health and attention to detail as a trainer is also suspect, failing to give pac a solid gameplan for marquez in 3 fights. As marquez got better and better with every pacquiao fight, pac got worse and worse. Both pac and roach is on a decline, with much of roach's champions dumping him for a better trainer and pacquiao failing to evolve as far as boxing IQ is concerned. With pacquiaos thirst for attention in the philippines, trying everything from politics (presidential candidacy, here i come) to even professional basketball (Obviously, it doesnt take much to be a pro baller in the philippines)... Its comical how he still wants to fight part time. I guess the marquez ko hasnt tought him much. I love pacquiao back when he was a full time fighter, but for the pac fans, truth hurts.
