When it comes to African spirituality, it is very broad: Deities: These are spirits that have never lived as human beings but are considered divine entities (the gods and goddess) they incarnate Izithunywa: These are the working spirits of the departed who did not use herbs. These spirits are associated with abathandazi (prayer people) and imboni/prophets. They reincarnate Amadlozi: These are the working spirits of the departed who are involved in practices performed by izangoma (traditional healers), amagedla, izanuse, ogobela, and others.
