I added a tall sissy bar to stack bags on it for my riding trips. I was able to carry 2 back packs, a sleeping bag, and a tent on it. And i had the leather saddle bags that was on the bike when i bought it. I carried food in the saddle bags. Jerky and some can foods. I have rode many miles on many bikes. So i have a bit of a clue how to load gear for long rides. A tall sissy bar has always worked well for me. The one i have now i found used on the internet. Had to rig it as i could. And rode a few thousand miles with it. Just have to check it, so it don't come loose. Like many things that can. Had my crash bar come loose and fall on the front fender. I didn't notice till i stopped and got off the bike. Another time the horn came loose and was hanging by the wires. One of the things i hate most is when the headlight go's out at night. Always carry a spare. Or add extra lights. so you can see till you get the headlight changed. I never ride with a back pack on me. Back packs can really put a strain on your body riding long distance.

Nice series. Well documented and interesting to watch. I have been moto-camping coast-to-coast for 20 years. On a 1995 Triumph Trophy 1200. So why did YOU choose a Triumph? Especially that model for long distance touring? Not exactly made for the long haul. In hindsight, I would not do my Triumph again. Too finicky. And the chain drove me crazy. I converted to a shaft drive Honda. Much more reliable and no maintenance on the final drive. I love the Triumph brand, but my experience with my bike in 20 years was that great. Lots of breakdowns and calls to AAA.

Just saw this video series. Looks awesome. I give you a lot of credit. I am going to do this for 2 weeks and have about 4500 miles planned for next May-2019, on my triumph street twin with my son. I have a million questions about gear and routes, etc if there is a way to ask you more questions, how do I contact you?

+danelllynn, Amazing views. I hope to do the same on my bike eventually. I have a 2014 Honda CTX 1300 Deluxe, and I am wanting to put a trailer on it, a power windshield, and tour all of the 50 states like you are doing, and even go as far as Alaska like the video called "Ride for Lance" . I talk about the future plans I have for my bike on my channel. I was first thinking of trading it in soon, but I am still exploring all options with my bike, and trying to get a custom built hitch is something that I am looking into now. That video is for sale at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYHOaWqhaM-cbM0 . I have the video, and it is awesome. If you get a chance, check it out.
