Brilliant interview. Somehow the interviewer managed to get some very good substantive information out of a man that’s very enigmatic. The best interview I’ve heard with Maynard. My ear perked up about the whole stage performance and dressing up because I’ve always wanted to ask him about that but would’ve taken it further and asked why he changes his archetype for every band and every tour

I've got mixed feelings about Maynard now in life, but he always has something to say. 33:50 The type of dance/performance art that inspired Maynard during the smooth blue paint/drag era was a type of Japanese dance called "Butoh". Or at least that's my guess.
