@@BigBeardBuilds Yes, music is quite modern, but it inspires good vibes nevertheless. At least for me. :) I completely agree about the authenticity of this channel. In fact, there are sooo many good channels on KZbin - and every talker says they live minimally and authentically and so on. But there is one big problem with these channels - they show very fictitious life. You admire these videos, but after watching you suddenly feel like... "oh, my life is not so glamorous, even if I live in very similar conditions". On the contrary, after watching Talasbuan you feel like "I am good as I am". :)

I look forward to each and every video. I find I laugh with you, learn from you, am inspired by you and have cried with you all. I live in Colorado in the States and admire your hard work, honest life. My eyes are old and so I usually watch on my tv but I can only leave comments if I am on my computer. I have from a distance celebrated with you on so many of your videos. I was thinking if you only had a sauna your place would be perfect. And when your video of your sauna I was really moved… because in a different way I too grew up with something similar here we have vapor caves that my grandma would take me to as a child. Even then the spiritual connection of the quiet, heat, then into the snow or pool reminds my old body of my youth. And your video of ivar’s birth was one of the best I have seen on KZbin - honest, natural, respectful. And how you have shared deaths with your canine companion or with the livestock is true to life. I appreciate and honor you for sharing your journey. And from so far away, I feel we are like neighbors that the distance is erased when we can know of others. And our differences, to me, seem diminished when our shared humanity is illuminated by understanding. Thank you.

Australia is an amazing country for growing things, and also it's legal to homeschool/in-school. There is a big homeschool community in this region. And it’s a beautiful area. We are hoping to put a little cottage on our off-grid farm very soon, and then rent/work share out our yurt to a family or couple with similar, simple living values. I’ve said this before but I spend a fair bit of time on your videos…like a mini vacation. I wondered though if you found it difficult to slaughter the animals you have so lovingly cared for when it was necessary to provide food for you and your family? Probably goes without saying. I’m 82 years old and in no physical condition to even walk a dog to my sorrow but at a younger age I would dearly love to be surrounded by all your animals. I really admire your philosophy and your humor about your journey.

For your statistics, I am 78 years old. Have been a subscriber probably from the beginning. My favorite episode was when Tova was away and Mathias and Ivar were together. It was a lovely bonding episode, although I have to say I enjoy every episode and puts a smile on my face when I see a new episode. With all of the awful things that are happening in the world, your vlog is so relaxing and uplifting. Perhaps Sweden will relax the laws on child education, especially what just happened in Texas in lower grade school. I think you have the right idea with your lives, doing what you want and at your own pace. Best to you all, Jane, Philadelphia

I like that video very much too!! I'm a subscriber, 48yrs old, I raised my twins on my own, homeschooled which turned into life-lesson educating (mostly unschooling) with support & funding for enrichment courses 😁like horsemanship, ballet, sewing, science camp, etc. We lived in Santa Cruz Mountains from age 2-15 (easier for a non-career Mum to rent & I LOVE forests and nature), had to move to Pacific Northwest in 2017. Twins are self sufficient and I now live alone. We 3 all have disabilities that cause chronic pain, and other things that have been challenging. I miss the forests, & ocean! I love watching these videos & am in awe of the beauty of the land and seasons♡♡♡Thank You for sharing your lives with us❣

I am 66. We have 1 acre off-grid in Western Oregon, east side of the Coast Range mountains. Very mild temps. Snow once every 5 years or so. 20f is cold here. Mostly above freezing all winter. 75 to 80 summers, 100 is very rare. Lots of rain in winter, not much from June 1 to Oct 31. Lots of fruit everywhere, fence rows, orchards, berries. We have 3 goats for dairy and meat and chickens for eggs and meat. We did rabbits but got tired of meat. I have 3 pigeon pairs for meat. We hunt for elk, deer, turkeys, ducks, geese, quail, pheasants and squirrels. Have a fish pond with yellow perch and there are lots of places to fish, ponds, lakes, rivers and 40 miles to Pacific Ocean. We also have a small greenhouse with aquaponics, raised beds with hoops to extend seasons. We grow most of what we need. Wood heat and hot water, outdoor kitchen. Very minimal solar, 12v, 200w. Solar water heater coil on roof in summer. No propane....James

The first video I saw was your birth video. That is what popped up in my feed and I ended up going back to your very first chicken videos and watching everyone (or I think I have!) At the time I was caring for my dying mom and your channel provided a peaceful escape that I so badly needed. After she passed in May 2020 I took a break from watching because of the reminder of that time, but eventually started watching again as I started my first in-ground garden and tried skry for the first time. I have also found that I am much healthier on a plant based diet, perhaps because I have access to an abundance of fresh plants, nuts, seeds etc.. all year round. What I do know is that one wat of eating does not suit everybody. I'm glad you are open to discovery and stay true to your beliefs. Second, you live in a beautiful place in the world that I am able to experience vicariously through your posts. And lastly, you have a beautiful family and wonderful things to share! Thank you! This was absolutely beautiful from beginning to the last. You both are so talented and thoughtful. Your life is quite idealized, but also practical. I am 74, live alone with my dog and pony in a small (540sq.ft) cabin. My 2 grown son's are very supportive so I can call on them for help with tasks too hard for me. I have been off grid for 20 yrs with small solar for electric and hot water( when the sun cooperates) propane and wood for heating and cooking. I can no longer afford the propane, so I am relying solely on wood. Waiting for battery storage technology to improve to enable me to make and store enuf solar energy for heat and cooking. It's wonderful to be independent. Climate here in NH, USA is similar to yours. I have been successfully growing Asian Pears, schizandra and hardy kiwis. Blueberries and honeyberry are really good also. If I was raising children today I would home school. I used to believe public school was best for the social aspect. I no longer feel that way. Blessings on you and all you LOVE. I am so grateful for my KZbin friends as there is no community feeling in my country these days. Please keep sharing your amazing, gentle life.

I absolutely love your videos, even though I am an elderly vegan. I watch since around the time of the birth of Ivar. I don't mind the length of your videos. The longer ones I watch over a couple of days, even better. The compilation at the beginning must have taken you ages to put together, it was such a delight to watch, thank you for that. It inspired me to look at some of your older videos too. In terms of the food we eat I think there is no " one fits all". I am nearly 70, vegetarian for decades, vegan for about 10 years and very healthy and happy with my lifestyle. The most important thing is to be tolerant of other's choices. I am German, but we educated our daughter out of the school system in the UK, where this is possible. In Germany it isn't. In Austria it's possible, at least for the time being. I hope you can find a solution when the time comes for Ivar. We found it difficult and tiring, I will not lie, but these days it is even more essential to keep the children out of the system, for reasons many of us understand. By the way you are both looking especially well and relaxed and happy. Tuva, it feels like you have come back to yourself after having the child. It takes a lot of strength out of the woman having a child, takes time to regenerate. I look foward to the continuation of your stories. Thank you for all you give to your audience.

Thanks and congrats on every milestone you achieve even if it is just enjoying each day, which is the most important goal. Love life, laugh often and walk the talk then you will succeed . Can't wait for the next video, this one was great!

I am 76 years and absolutely enjoy all you do and the ways you think. I TAUGHT MY CHILDREN, many things and also the love of learning no matter what it was or where i[they we taught. I discussed what they learned each day and was very much involved in the childrens activities in their schools volunteering. I hope this helps you with your decision to send your child to regular school. This is where they learn to socialize and get along with others. You are wonderful making this presentation and i have been with you many years as well.

For me preconceived notions come from our experiences which dominated how our brains are being conditioned. It starts from seeing I am different from him/her; us being different from them... We segregate because we use our 5 senses, but when the heart speaks, it only has one language. The language of 💙. Keep doing and sharing guys. You are beautiful !

I am a 65-year-old grandmother, living the usual suburban life in a city on the High Plains midwest of America. when I was young, my dream was to live as you are, but that was not to be for me. I am so happy now to live vicariously through the many modern homesteading families on KZbin and I especially enjoy your videos as you are in Scandinavia, an area that I find very interesting. I hope you are able to continue for many years. You are to be congratulated for your hard work.

You should be free to speak your own mind without fear of what other people might say in response. It's great that you're family is under such a peaceful place. Isolation from the rest of the world will afford you a different perspective. You are in the driver seat of your own life.

One of my favorite videos was the long one with just the two menfolk going through the daily tasks while alone. Bits of conversation between father and son.

22:00 I'm glad that was mentioned about vegan diets. I did it back in the 1990's & got very ill with B12 deficiency etc. More people need to speak out about how it's so easy to get malnourished & it can affect your health for a very long time. Veganism is becoming like a cult these days.

I'm 50 yrs of age, female and I've been watching for 5 yrs, maybe a little longer but at least that long. I love your videos and how you have chose to luce your life. It's beautiful. Just because we may not share all each other's beliefs I can appreciate 'You for your beliefs' and respect those as well as listen earnestly and see what I can garner from them or not. I love that you never force your opinions on anyone...how wonderful the world would be if we could embrace that. We're living in a time where that's being taken away mire then ever before and it's infuriating but beyond that heartbreaking at the divide it's causing. Thank you for sharing your gentle souls and how to embrace the rawness and beauty nature offers. Regarding the news...You're so right to stay away from it, the pollution they spill out that so many are taking into their life as facts is destroying our world. For schooling, although not asked I will share at all possible do not put your children into public school! It's where the government/ other's get a hold of your child and pollute their precious brains.

The numbers do not surprise me at all. You film high quality pictures of stunningly beautiful countryside. The episodes that are of building things, feeding the animals etc just look like you living your lives without any feeling of staging or doing it for the camera. We watch because we are interested in your way of life and because we get to see such beautiful footage. Thank you for taking all the time it takes to share your videos with us.

So beautiful. Love you all. I have so much respect and admiration for your way of life. A life I yearn to live … thank you for sharing. Homeschooling was a great decision for my family, we are still getting into the rhythm but my children have the freedom to be children. I’m American and our public school system is so broken, as with many other things. As a former vegan who quit because of health problems, both physically and mentally, I would like to hear your story. I’ve progressed into a more animal based diet and with that my health has progressively improved.

Thank you so much for answering all of the questions! You're a very interesting couple! Love watching the baby grow as well. It's very interesting watching how you live compared to myself being in the USA. What you do on a daily basis would make most of us think we were in an apocalypse. People here are not that self sufficient and are lazy, especially the kids getting out of high school. I'm 60 and grew up in different time. This country has made things way too easy for kids. Parents can barely discipline their own children without having charges pressed by someone witnessing it and taking it wrong or now the children press charges themselves against their own parents. You're doing a good job and doing the right thing for you so keep on doing it. You'll be fine. You're not missing out on anything.

Once again I am so very impressed with your beautiful attitude toward a life on your own and how you have self taught yourselves all along the way in this somewhat challenging life style. Your honesty in sharing your challenges and your positivity is so impressive. Few would be able to succeed on their own. You both are truly amazing. Also I love little Ivor....Best wishes for continued success and finding purpose and the intent of living on your own terms...surrounded by the beauty of the forest and nature. Re homeschooling, as a mum with similar values to you guys (from what I can see), we can home school here (NZ) but I decided to send the kids to school because I wanted my children to feel part of the community in the street (urban area) and neighborhood. They LOVE it. Honestly, the schooling today and the types of teachers it attracts - is nothing like what I grew up with. With a happy home, teaching our kids to always question and be curious... on top of a mostly good teaching philosophy. I think they are learning more and becoming good adults... It has not been totally plain sailing and have had to get involved at times, and had navigate judgemental parents... but nothing I can't handle, if they are happy. I know it can be a worry, but sometimes thrashing against a system you can't change, can really take it out a person, surrendering a bit can free you up to work well within it and be apart from it at the same time.

I think it's important to give children that possibility. Teaching and school is different now compared to Tova's and Mathias' childhood. Pedagogy is more child oriented. Those old fashioned stone faced teachers are retired or dead now. There's so much possibilites school gives that I wouldn't dream of withholding that from my child. Of course there's all that competition and exposure to consumerism because of main stream school mates, but the good outweigh the bad many times. And critical thinking is also taught at school - at least in Finland. People often times can't realize how much they actually learned at school especially if they werent' the best students. I have a principal that if I was taught something at peruskoulu (grades 1-9) I must have the basic skill to do it or learn it now as an adult - no matter what grade I got back then. So I build stuff, grow stuff, sew clothes, bake and cook, speak three languages, keep a budget, debate scientific subjects and so forth. I hope there's a school for Ivar that Tova and Mathias can be in peace with when the time comes. Thank you for all your videos!
