As a diehard USA V supporter, it makes my day to hear that 4-time Olympian Matt Anderson is contemplating another Olympics. He wants that gold medal !!! Matt played very well in Paris. But you can't stop Father Time...and Matt will be 41 when LA 2028 comes around. I'm an insatiable fan, but it might be expecting too much to ask a 40-plus opposite to go through that grinding preparation. Then again....39-year old György Grozer was an opposite for Germany for the Paris Olympics and was stellar. As Matt points out, he's been blessed and has worked hard to stay in top shape and avoid any volleyball boo-boos. Maybe Matt would contribute as an outside hitter, the position he plays professionally. USA asked Matt to move to opposite after Clay Stanley's national team tenure was done...in part because he could do it...but also because there was no other clear and obvious choice to take over that demanding position. Matt is such a quality individual and ultimate team player, that it would be a bonus to have him around in any capacity. It's impossible not to like this guy.
