Year end is well known for Catfish/Ah seng/Duri/Jahan season. So we embark on a trip to hunt for them. Targeting size above 2kg. Pergh!
First we have to look for them. Using my fish finder. I scan for stationary mid water fish that is waiting for an easy meal, leftover food from Kelong. They hang around alongside, preferably next to a slope. The scan will show a long arc or wavy arc indicating a fish swimming slowly against the current.
Estimate the depth and lower your bait in line with the fish depth. You can also scan for your bait and lower it slowly to the depth where they are. Move around the bait slowly around in hope they caught the scent of your bait.
If you feel the short tug, its on. Set the hook and let the fish run, peeling your drag away. Watch the video again!
I do recommend a good set of reels, line and rod to ensure the line do not snap easily. Also, a good reel and rod definitely add more fun to it!
I highly recommend Shimano Grappler Rod for providing a resistance load, Shimano Tranx 301 reel for the smooth drag and easy reeling in, Shimano braided grappler line PE2 (thin and strong line), YGK leader to without shock and abrasion.

Aku gunakan Garmin Fish Finder. Ikan Jahan size ini selalu main bawah kelong, tunggu kan sisa makan ikan dari kelong atau perut ikan yang dibuang. Ikan Jahan ini akan berenang lawan arus. Dalam Garmin akan ada tanda baris pangjang atau arka yang agak pangjang atau garisan beralun. Boleh pelan pelan carik, Insyaallah success.
Kalau ada jumpa. Try agak agak turun kan umpan jarak dalam yang sama. Boleh jugak gunakan Garmin untuk lihat umpan kita pelan pelan turun. Gerak kan sikit itu umpan sekeliling kayak pelan pelan. Kasi bau umpan berkeliaran.
Kalau ada rasa gigit, apa lagi, Strike la! Fish On! Pergh! Kasi ikan itu lari. Reel mahu bising!
Aku recommend beli rod, mesin and tali yang baik sikit la. Penting dan lagi best layan ikan tarik.
Aku recommend Shimano Grappler Rod untuk kasi berat sikit atau payah bagi ikan itu nak turun.

YGK leader untuk tahan tarikan Ikan yang ganas sikit. Tak ada masalah. Tenang tak stress. hahaha
