Yes came a bit too quick this year. I still have some trees outside that needs repotting and this early spring weather has given me the chance of doing thing staggered so the trees outside can get their own repotting seasons 👍 a blessing maybe? lol

Daggum, she didn’t give you much to work with, did she? Great job trying to retake control of those. I wonder if using a tourniquet technique at the base and starting a new root plain would be a better option. I’m diggin the clear pot that’ll look wicked cool as the roots come it

I guess it is basically ground layering but I think once new roots grows in, the tree will be fine. I like the 3 major root flare at the bottom so I think over a few years I can get the fine roots to grow where the 3 major divide is and all will be good… if not I can always try to layer it then lol

Germinating seedlings in clear dixie cups I learned that white roots turn yellow-brown with light exposure this doesn't seem to affect their development though.

@@PatriciaOConnorBonsaiBalcony I usually don’t even see roots grow into the visible part of any transparent pots. The white root on this tree are new active roots that the tree has grown in the garage. I hope it survives the pruning

Yes I could have used it… have I thought of it when I was working on this lol. It seems when I see roots I never think of applying root hormone.
