So many fascinating stories! I almost didn't want the broadcast to end. Mr. McClean's father was a really wise man. I will probably listen to this episode over and over. Thank you for this.

If there were a dictionary entry for the Regenerative Agriculture Podcast with John Kempf, this would be the example given right after the essential nature of this show. I'm a Florida native (now living all the way in cold Finland) and this brings me home. Benny sounds like my Dad, born and raised in old Florida. I recall about 20 years ago now when I would go road biking with a friend through north central Florida. The groves were largely gone, but you'd find tangerines and other citrus growing in abandoned lots in the understory. Ripe and ready for the picking. Not sure if that means something about polycultures and natural environments or what, but even now I can remember the aroma and flavor.

Wow, what a marvelous conversation. The old ways are better in so many cases.

I hope AEA or some Entity out there is building a Library to store and index the Golden Nuggets of information from our old timers (or anyone else with key bits of wisdom). I fear too many of these treasures are being taken to our graveyards... for the lack of a system for "harvesting" them in time. John's AEA Podcasts are one such storehouse of precious information.

As I listened to Mr McCleans, “What do you see?”… the farmers of that generation depended on observation and the wisdom to recognize relationships. It brings me back to college conversations with other rural kids from various areas.

I hope key players in what’s left of Florida’s citrus industry find this talk.

Pictures?? I wanna see that grapefruit. How ironic it would be if regenerative growers were the only ones to bring citrus back to Florida. What an advert that would be.
