You can either send them directly to our PayPal using this link: www.paypal.me/bmthtobulgaria Or you can donate through super thanks, although KZbin will take 30% cut this way. Whatever you do! Either way is ok depending on what's easiest for you ❤

your feelings and thoughts about spending money on the dogs are completely valid. You're doing what you can to build a safe beautiful home for your family and as much fun and love the puppies can bring, they're not something your were accounting for, and that is completely fair. I and tbh all of us can see that you're a great person and want to do good by the dogs and treat them with respect even tho it's not what you wanted, and it means a lot to everybody, having this bit of humanity even for an animal. I'll sub to the patreon, £3 isn't much but it's honest work haha. I pray that you'll family will manage to financially catch up soon, and that you'll manage to get resources for any future builds and renovations. :)

As a Brit who has lived in Bulgaria for a decade, the horrible and brutal behaviour towards animals in villages is tragic. Attitude in thr cities is a bit better though. That being said, there a ton of things like ticks and diseases so you have to get straight on the vacines and the costs add up. We have managed to resuce abiut 5 and get them adopted in Germany. There are very few shelters that are any good, but if you so some outreach, you can find one near you im sure.

That started off as a sad episode - but I'm glad the puppies weren't poisoned after all! We are in Hisarya (beautiful spa town) and I noticed how many stray dogs there are since Covid. But I was heartened to see neighbours feeding them, and there is a program to catch & neuter them. It's run by the Municipality here and they put a tag on their ear afterward so at least the dogs are not having unwanted puppies.
@frombournemouthtobulgaria Жыл бұрын
What we would do for a kidless weekend away at a spa 🥴. It was great we were able to save the rest, most people here kill the dogs when they get parvo, and a lot of vets won't take them in. The Stray programme where they neuter them is definitely needed and necessary.

Caring for animals really is a pricey affair. There is a group of stray cats near a local bakery and I try to feed them every day. Lietrally, the backpack I go to work with is almost entirely filled with cat and dog food. Usually, when the cats ask people for food, they just drop them a piece of their pastry; so giving them a Whiskas pouch makes them very happy. One package is usually enough but 2 packages per day (in a box with 4 total) that's 2.5 boxes of cat food per week. I probably spend more on cat food than myself on most days. And I've probably contributed to the increase of stray cat population in Bulgaria as the black cat (accurately dubbed Mami) is constantly pregnant. :O I also know what it's like to lose a puppy. We had one at work that was chained up near its dog house, but as it grew we started taking it for walks around the base.Then, at one point we figured it was mature enough to be unchained completely. It ran freely around the base for several weeks and was so happy. But it never learned to be careful when crossing the road and was struck by a bus. It was heartbreaking. Know that by building this pen, you are doing good for the puppies. They deserve safety.

There are a few shelters in Bulgaria that can possibly take dogs that are left on the street. "Animal Rescue" is the one I'm familiar with. I'd have probably driven to the shelter and given the dogs to them if I were in your shoes. Hope you've managed to find a solution since then like giving some away to friends to care for or something of the sort. 1 dog or maximum 2 is plenty imho. Best of luck with the projects and looking forward to seeing how the house and garden will be taking shape.

@MrDariomag327 Жыл бұрын
@@frombournemouthtobulgaria I understand. When I was little, my grandparents had around 100 sheep, a horse, 3 pigs and around 20 hens. Dealing with goats and sheep is going to be a nightmare since you guys will be glued to them 24/7 (constant cleaning, walking them to graze on fields, shearing, milking). Maybe try to dissuade Jordan unless you mean one or two. I have two bunnies and my hands are quite full. Good luck with the animal kingdom. :)

So sorry about the problems with the pups, it is heartbreaking. Animal welfare is not on the same level as the UK and vaccinating dogs is not considered important by many, hence the parvo. And yes, poisoning is an issue, we have lost a number of cats. We believe cats should have freedom, it's hard sometimes but they have to take their chances. However, we would never allow our dogs to roam and made sure before we even moved here that the garden was secure. I don't know about your village, where we live every creature imaginable wanders down our lane at some point. Too long a list that includes cows, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys and pigs. Honestly, I'd have hysterics if my horse got out. Please don't even consider cows, pigs, and especially horses until you are really sorted and have the means to care for them. They are a considerably more expensive and time consuming than dogs. I hope things have improved for you since you made this video was made. Unfortunately, it came across as very whingy and your constant complaints about lack of funds have become tiresome. I can't even imagine what the vet bills would have been in England. Can you? We all struggle from time to time, it's all about buckling down and getting on with it, and it will get better. Don't forget you are "living the dream"! I do wish you the best😊
@frombournemouthtobulgaria Жыл бұрын
I think what you're seeing is us trying to deal with something quite drastic happening financially, that was unprepared for. So you may have found the video "whingy" but they we're genuine emotions and concerns during what was a very tough and turbulent time for the family. Quite frankly, from me personally (Lewis) it was an endeavor I wasn't wanting to take on due to understanding what it meant for us as a family. And the family should always come first over the animals. So, we're showing you, genuine real emotions during tough times. We got through it in the end, but its certainly not something we would consider doing again. I mean, all we were trying to do was be good people.
@katih1506 Жыл бұрын
@@frombournemouthtobulgaria I'm so sorry, I feel really guilty for being so hard on you. I do understand, Jordan obviously loves animals and it's so hard to let them down. And you, Lewis, need to be level headed and prioritize. I'm so excited about your adventures and truly want you to succeed. You are good people, just hang in there.. Things do get tough sometimes, we're going through it at the moment. Our beloved 9 year old dog has cancer and now after two operations we can do no more. Pain management and quality time are all we have. It's heartbreaking! Fortunately, we have a wonderful vet and we're not paying UK vet bills. It would be impossible as we are currently living on my husband's UK state pension. On top of that, I've slipped a disc in my back and am in pain and still waiting for a scan. It's all been a bit emotional lately. We will survive and I'm sure you will too.

I have been watching your videos oh you have a lot to learn. I have rescued many animal here in total over 30 but never once have I asked for any ones help financial . We have lived here now since 2004 . I feel you have taken on more than you can deal with having two small children I am a teacher and my heart goes out to you both but you really need to know what life is like here in Bulgaria. At the moment you are coming across as people who are begging for money hence you have not thought about the long term plan of being here. I wish you all the luck in the future but I think you really need to come out of fantasy land and in to reality Bulgaria is a magnificent country to live in but you have to treat the people right. Not thinking they are cheap labour etc. They are no different to you or I they deserve the same wage as what you would pay someone in England for a full days work. Take care I wish you and your family all the very best just adapt a little better to the Bulgarian way.
@frombournemouthtobulgaria Жыл бұрын
We never "begged" for money for the animals in this video. People asked us personally to set up a link to send donations to help towards the animals, and if that's what people want to do, then we accept the help. Why struggle if people want to get involved. I'm not sure what you mean by "cheap labour" who did we underpay here? We paid above the average wage when we had a labour worker here helping us with the roof. I'm not sure what the issue is. We haven't openly come out begging for money. People donate towards a cause that they want to donate towards. The videos we've made were made in the moment, dealing with real life issues that at the time weren't in the plan. Life throws things at you that your not always prepared for and we just trued our best to be good people. Doing what a lot of people would have wanted us to do and not let all those dogs that got thrown over our wall just die. We did nothing wrong by accepting help where people wanted to help. You may not have need help. But people wanted to help, and that just people being good people.

You have to think twice before you take in any pets as getting the pets are the cheapest part of upkeep is where it gets expensive. People don’t want others dogs roaming around for fear of biting or disease. All sad to say and hear, but that’s life really. So many are in need these days, but lots don’t want to work let alone work more than one or even two jobs. If you can’t afford to take them animals in, let the local council do it, as your first job is taking care of your family and keeping them warm over winter. Be more logical or you’ll be begging on this channel. Like many tend to do. Then they lose people watching as it gets old. Hopefully things will get better for you all there. Things worth having don’t come easy in life.
@frombournemouthtobulgaria Жыл бұрын
Yeah, or goal really isn't to run an animal shelter and we managed to rehome the majority of the dogs. Luckily, we've learned our lesson about stray animals. But at the same time, when people throw dogs in a zipped up bag over your wall and drive off, you're caught in a tough dilemma from a human kindness standpoint. It's worked out in the end but at the time, was stressful and not in the plan.
