Thanks for sharing a whole lifetime of knowledge to all of us... I've learned more in an hour with you than 45 years in the woods!!! I don't feel that doing it right is any more work than what we've done over the years and the benefits will pay off. It has sparked me to go after these smart guys... it's like playing chess... you make a move and they counter you... so you do something different to catch them off guard... dumb luck only gets you so far!

Perfected hunting out of a saddle over scrapes at night on property he never had permission to be on. When that didn't work he used a 243 and shined fields. It's commonly known from that area. Most people won't come out and say it it

Id love to see you guys do Up State Ny in the Adirondacks. Its miles and miles of nothing but over grown thick woods. No Ag at all. You have solid woods where at best you can see 20 to 25 yards.

He's a poaching piece of feces. That killed many deer at night, and trespassing. Often times both. Hunting over scrapes at night. Shining fields with a 243. His resume consists of a bunch of 3 year Olds. 125-150" he hugged the lower end.

Where do you hunt?? Not as pressured as Michigan guaranteed. I live here. Year and a half old deer are smarter than any deer twice it’s age anywhere else. Ever seen an orange army? Probably not. John eberhart knows how to kill heavily pressured bucks better than the rest. Did you know that scent lock owns the sole patent on activated carbon lined clothing??? He doesn’t give a shit about scent lock, he believes in activated carbon. I’m sure you’d take a free jacket and pants too.

@eberhartoutdoors4219 when I hunt over scrapes at night out of my saddle while wearing scentlok I'm having an issue. I'm not getting winded. I need a way of getting more ambient light on my sights without spooking the buck. I know you are an expert. Also when I do pull it off and pose for the photo the next day and the buck is stiffer than a wedding pecker will I share the same notiraity as you?

I have shot several 125 inch bucks that are in the books that were 2.5 year olds. Goodrich Mi. Not southern Michigan at all. Also , I've hunted Southern Ohio private for 13 years and more and more and more hunters are Flocking in! Their are so many hunters now down their that its becoming more like Michigan. I live an hour from John.

How would one measure how smart deer are in different areas by state, county?
@HockeyTownHooligan5
@HockeyTownHooligan5 6 жыл бұрын
James Blackburn By hunting in each state. I hunt in Michigan and you wouldn’t see a mature 5 year old buck walking across an open field in the middle of the day in November on state land. No way in the world. They go nocturnal and you never see them and you have to search for them. Iowa and Kansas just don’t have the pressure so they grow and go lots time without seeing people.
@shannonpaplow7754
@shannonpaplow7754 5 жыл бұрын
@@HockeyTownHooligan5 Wrong bro. Iowa has much private property with no hunting allowed. Reason those deer grow to 5+ yrs old. These deer are award of the hunters and only reason they get killed is because they were either hungry,looking for a doe, or didn't get back to safe bedding in time before legal shooting time.

Great pod cast. I do disagree with Iowa 150" buck on public land being "not as smart" as your primary states deer. I've yet to see one minus being on camera at night. We have a fair number of pheasant hunters stinking up what little public land we have. Nor here or there, that is just about the best advice anyone needs to harvest mature whitetail deer. Now it's just about practicing what was said in the Pod Cast.

Thanks for all the great info on the pod cast ! One thing i didn't hear was what is Johns take on urinating in the woods ? I hear guys say they piss from the stand and intentionally piss in scrapes ...I've been carrying a pee bottle for years . I'd like to hear johns take on that subject 👍

Since when did these podcasts become pissing matches and bash festivals of the average hunter. First of all my dog just got sprayed by a skunk he came inside and rolled on my carpet before i can get him in the tub well needless to say my whole house smelled like skunk i had some left over scent killer so i sprayed the carpet where he rolled along with the dog because it was 4a.m and nothing was open to get tomatoe juice or natures miracle. And the skunk smell was gone within minutes. I dont work for any of these companies just giving my first hand experience. Next time you have a stinky boot or sweaty sock spay some on there and then smell it again i guarantee it will not smell anymore. Now try putting that same sock or boot inside one of these 1000$ suits and I guarantee you will smell it for at least the first 24 hrs bc carbon is not instant. Although it does absorb some odors similar to baking soda it doesnt kill bacteria this is why it is used in aquarium filters it removes impurities in the water while allowing the nitrifying bacteria to thrive. What causes human scent Bacteria!!!! Thats fact let hear one of these 2 blow hards dispute the facts i just crushed them with

John is very meticulous when it comes to scent control. It's no secret that he is on Scent Loks pro-staff. Minimizing your scent in the woods is never a bad thing, but playing the wind is also a huge part of it. I don't personally believe there is any way for you to become "invisible" to a deer's nose no matter what product you buy. - Drew

I like how he laughs at the spray and ozonics but pretends his magic suit is the real deal. Play the wind and leave the B.S. at the store. You aren’t fooling a a mature bucks nose.
