This month, Eddie takes a historic look at the role that roads play in Ireland in all their complexity, beauty and ugliness. The windy and straight, the good and the bad, the up and the down. Eddie explores why certain roads in Co. Clare exist and what purpose they served both long ago in the past and in the present now.

Love settling down in front of the fire with the lights off to Eddies stories. Small dram of whiskey and it makes a perfect winters evenings entertainment. Thanks Eddie! Keep 'em coming!

I agree, making it a special occasion and disconnecting from the modern day.

I seem to be moving to Ireland in a few months, and I've been binging Eddie's stories. Hopefully it will help me settle into the Irish life, if not I'm still having a great time listening! ☘️🇮🇪 Thank you Eddie and the podcast team!!

Unfortunately a lot of people in my age group and younger (I'm 29) have lost their appreciation for their history and culture and have been modernised and Americanised (nothing against the American people) Dublin has become much like other modern European cities. But there still is a lot to see and Irish music is alive and well if you know where to look. Tá fáilte romhat

Do you make a good amount of money if we purchase your books on Amazon? I live in the US. I was thinking of purchasing a couple to read on my kindle. (However I have a good feeling your books are better in real life..:) )

Eddie I know that Cromwell used Rivers and Lakes to attack Castles such as Cahir Castle, and Ross Castle in Killarney, both impregnable up until then. . I also read of other castles that were pounded by his large canons into submission. I can not remember the names but I have read of the Canon Barges that were used by Cromwell, Yes Cromwell only stayed around 9 months but his Son I believe it was took over, Also his Generals stayed the 3-4 years necessary to quell us rabble Irish. It was a Slaughter according to the history books, 1649/53, but troops stayed on even after that. Cromwells New Model Army. I best stop and let you get on. Much too much history just in his story alone. A Bad Man.

just to be clear, the vatican inflicted prema nucta, are the same roman blood that invaded england and the european continent coming form turkey as they were eastern rome first, made whites fought in gladiator rings and brothels and used in mines those lands were invaded by the same blood lines that were then called the "saints" its interesting the different perspectives, alas those royals weren't english , no royals of any country are loyal to the people infact the king of england had to call himself king of the LAND because he was not OF the people which means he wasn't really even english he carried the whip of the egyptians as do the queens and kings and the fleur de lis of nimrod and I suppose you weren't wanting to pay attention to this as catholics often dont and that people gave their 10th children as tithys' and that english were often forced to stay as peasantry on the lands of these then foreign kings who called it their right to do these things in the name of catholicism and that its the same thing as that which was done in ireland and forced to kill neighboring "lords" as a result of being forced to be on their lands further more the punishments were very roman "pound of flesh" and hangings were common place even amoung children the borgias being also in the vatican and the creepy shit they got up to of money changing proportion (nothing new) being outside the scope of what they allowed peasant as to talk about the Depsencers and their castles being built, and the royals admittedly in their OWN history show they brought those evil roman practices of eating corpses for "medicine" so they would rape your daughter on their wedding night, hang your child for stealing when starving and eat them and call it christian and catholic they still did this after the swap alas nothing new also and you can look this up, they used blood of people as mortar what say you to that? king louis also slayed however many people by working them to death for his "garden" in truth they are stanaists the lot but they are all the same, good and bad face of removal of dominion of self they were not of the white race even though they raped and bred in enough so you couldnt tell the difference and yes its all about parasiting off the sight of parah one thing was certain, they would enslave one way or another, they were not white, they were not european and they did rape, kill , eat and then blame YOU!
