I love listening to your wisdom so much, Sir. Somehow, I can use your idea to improve my life as well. I have always thought that I would have to be stuck with my college training because it gives me status. However, I am not happy and it has taken a huge toll on my health and relationship. Perhaps, it is okay to try something different that provides me more peace and a happier life.
I have no regrets after living here over 40 years and with the US passport, I can travel to see the world after my early retirement at 55. I would do this again if I had to do it over and over. I had to leave my birthplace to seek for freedom and opportunity. Life is short to do the things we don't love doing but life is very precious. Be mindful. Be kind whenever possible. Be happy with what we have. Sharing is caring. Cheers🍷

55 years old is too early to retire. I plan to retire at 72. Then I will enjoy life after that. I think I will live into my 80's since all my folks passed away in their 80's.

Very well explained steps by steps pou. I'm very grateful, thankful and very blessed to lived in America.!🙂🙏
77 yo khmer grandma here. I appreciate deeply your efforts making videos in khmer. I have issues understanding younger generation khmers speaking khmer. I left cambodia in 1968 to Paris. Eversince, Ive dreamed every night of going back to my country Kampuchea. Then I was back to PP in 2018 and 2019. So happy to speak khmer I went to a hôtel in front of the Palace, I asked the person worked behind the desk whether I can change money. The answer was: I don't speak khmer! So which language do you speak? (in english then) vietnamese, she said. I was kind of shocked. My heart bleeded. In PPenh, hardly cambodian faces were to be seen. Even in Buddhist Institute next door there was a small vietnamese restaurant. No one offer food to monks anymore. The place I used to live in, it has changed into Garden of friendship khmer vietnamese. Yes, Cambodia has completely changed. When I left, there were 7Millions people, now 30Millions. I just realised there is no room for me, my country was destroyed during Pol Pot era. Neighbouring countries took the opportunities to take over in order to expand their own. One thing is good, there is no war anymore.
I never regretted for being in the USA. I live my normal life, working to support my family, owned properties, saving for my retirement. 43 years in the USA is longer than I was in my country of origin.

You’re correct 👍. I’ve seen people from the country side can’t live here for just vacation, they still complain of boring here. I laugh when I heard that. That’s just for people visiting.

It’s not a boring life but it just a life that people here choose to be; we love privacy life
I don't see why Cambodian people feel sorry after resettlement in America. After all America is a free country and for those who don't want to live in America, rather than regretting but continue to live in America they can buy a one way ticket to go back to Cambodia. Poor people and hard working people like me love America, the land of opportunity.

mostly they are rich or have power in their country; they can do everything there but not here :)
NO REGRET at all! The people that feel regret should return back to Cambodia or theirs’ original country. If you are not happy here, why stay just to be miserable??? We have more opportunities and could do whatever we want to do as along as it is within the laws and regulations. The people that feel regret are the ones that probably doesn’t want to do anything. They think that everything will be handed to them!

those who regret mostly rich people or people who has power in their country; they can do anything in their country but not in the US. People who regret mostly people who lazy to work!!!
