This is the part that gets nerve wrecking to me... all of the fresh chrome and paint just waiting for a scratch to land in the most visible spot during the photo shoot. Jim Putney at 22re raceworks makes an aluminum half moon to replace them rubber ones that are part of valve cover gaskets that don’t deteriorate and leak oil. They are very nice and would be a cheap upgrade. He makes a lot of parts that normally rubber in aluminum. Valve cover grommets also. He is in Chico, I’m sure you are already aware but just incase you weren’t thought I’d share

Love how this Toyo is comin' together. Keep those 3 spoke rims! 👏 A round of applause to everyone involved in that build it looks ready to hit the shows sittin' on 3's! I have a question that may be a bit different. So I own a '71 Datsun 521 p/u, and I'm thinking of doin' a dually rear axle on it. Im into mini trucks and wanted to run hydraulics on it. Custom rear aluminum rims with engraving on the lip since it will be a deep dish rim on the outside. On the dually. Anyway, what would you be happier seeing out at a show a single rear wheel Datsun mini truck or a dually Datsun mini truck? Seems like everything is coming together on that frame. I'm glad you decided to run the newer windows it's cool that so much of Toyotas stuff fits each other. Now you have power windows. Can't wait to see what you have to show us all next on the Tofu build!

I'm going to engine swap it to a diesel Isuzu engine. Since that's the company that Datsun/Nissan used in the 80's for diesel engines. Yeah I'm not going for usual I'm not afraid to be different. I was more or less asking for an opinion from someone who genuinely loves mini trucks. What your opinion on what I was thinking of doing. I'm going to paint it cocaine white pearlescent with gold and pink pinstriping, and I'm going to do the frame pink powder coat! Then I'm gonna put titanium plates on the under side of the frame for sparks when it slides at night on the pavement!! 😂😂 I'm a little hand-icapped 😂 I only have one usable hand ✋️ 😅 😂!! It's gonna have a handicap plate on it😂😂 they're gonna think it's for a mentally handicapped person 😂😂 as it's sliding on the pavement!!! President Donald J. Actually when you paint or chrome it thicken up so it throw off the alignment. Re- drill it safely….usually tape does the trick .
