Hi Helen, do you hear me chatting along with you as you so kindly include me in your videos? I do carry on a dialog with you, I wish you could hear all my encouraging words. I told you I wanted to hear about your camper van trip. And then you said you'd tell me! I told you I wanted to hear all about that storm, and you said you'd tell me!! So you must be able to hear me thru cyberspace and across the waters to Iowa in the US! Keep those videos coming. I look so forward to every one of them! ❤❤

I like to listen to your chatter; it's never too long. Your cabin doll is more friendly looking than mine! I agree about the boots. If you go with the pattern, she's neither dressed for inside or outside. Florence's pinafore is perfect for a nature-loving girl. I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos. 👍🏻😊❤️
@mousiemakespod4 ай бұрын
Thank you, Pamela! I think my cabin girl has a different expression to the one in the pattern partly because I used safety eyes - I'm not so good at embroidering features! And you are quite right - the pattern is confusing about whether she is an indoor or outdoor girl! I wasn't too sure whether I liked Florence's pinafore until I photographed her in the mossy woods - then the colours seemed just right! xx

I love the tree montage. I have a crabapple tree near the house and at the moment it is fully in bloom with lovely white blossoms. I take pictures, mostly seasonally. In the fall, it turns to a beautiful orange/yellow. Nature can only make colors like that. The details you add to all your creations are what makes them so special. I look forward to the music video very much and, of course, another adventure in the camper van. ❤

Hi Helen, thanks for joining me again today and keeping me company. I’m back in bed today absolutely exhausted from a trip to Melbourne yesterday. We had a lovely day but I’m so exhausted because there was a protest at the trams couldn’t work and we had to walk for 10 blocks back to the train station. They are so big those blocks me very tired however I loved watching this podcast as always and listening to you. I love Meg. Well done. You are so clever you make it look so simple and I know how hard it is. Florence is looking absolutely gorgeous and perfect for her nature walking expeditions. Bernard is just as cute as all your other beautiful little bears how lucky he is to be part of your family. What a wonderful idea about the book and the crochet all the handwork. I will definitely check out this ladies channel and see what it’s all about. Your postbox looked awesome as usual. I love the tree montage. I’ve got a special weakness for trees. I think we all do thank you so much for that. Thank you for another beautiful podcast Helen. I look forward so much to the piano one. I wish I had put the rods into my animal makes as their heads too nod and I will remember the tip for the future. Mouche and family don't have that trouble and that's good. Interesting how to see how the different size wool and needles of course make a different size, and Bernard is super. Your photos of tree through the seasons was mesmerising. Thanks. xx

Helen you always have the nicest videos! Your son did a great job making the tree montage. I loved that. You have been so.busy making! Making clothes for the animals and dolls can really bring out the character of each toy. I love the striped sweater on the new bear. He is the perfect huggable size, I agree. Cabin girl is gorgeous. Her hands look very fiddly but turned out really good. Do they fit in the mittens? Your solution for the floppy neck was a great addition to her structure. I like that you wrapped the sticks in the wool. My mom made a doll for me when I was three (I have a Christmas photo of it so i would suspect she was a gift that year.) I still have her. She is about 18" tall maybe, a sewn doll, not crocheted. Very floppy neck but she does have a dowel running through. I suspect she needed more stuffing and her head is very large. the dowel moves about too much to maintain the best structure for the poor girl. Well, you have sent me on another rabbit hole, following Pam and her literary challenges. I've seen that movie and probably listened to.the audio book of that particular miss marple. But as I was watching your video last night I could not think of what I would have made to enter the challenge. I watched her this morning and the entries were so cute! Your letter box was very creative, making it stiff with glue, brilliant. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to the new adventures of Pearl, Meg and the gang. And your music video.( I like to listen to things when I am crafting as I can't always watch attentively.) See you later🤗

Hi Karen! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tree sequence! I am very pleased with Bernard the bear - he is definitely rather a nice size and texture - and now he's asking to go on the next campervan trip! The mittens for Cabin girl aren't designed to go on the hands properly (the thumb is just added onto the outside of the mitten) although I could probably squeeze the hand in! I am fairly confident that Meg's neck will remain strong - it's sounds as though your childhood doll probably just needed a thicker insert for her neck. I love having a different kind of prompt to being creative - and having a crime novel as the prompt is good fun - I loved seeing the other entries! I haven't quite decided on what I'll make for The Crow Trap... Thank you Karen - you know how much I enjoy your weekly comments!! xx

Hi Helen, I hope you're well. Glad storm Kathleen didn't blow you away. My mum's a Kathleen, we've been joking with her all weekend about causing a storm. Really love Meg and Bernard. Which way do you prefer to make your toys. Knitting or crochet? I've been trying more crochet lately, upping my skills. My mum in law has bought me the yarn pack for the upcoming sidar cal for my birthday. I treated myself to a crochet magazine from the supermarket this afternoon. It's got a booklet of amigurumi animals. Not sure if my hands will allow me to work a tight gauge. Little practice first, I think. I'm looking forward to the piano video. It's always a pleasure listening to you play. Have a lovely week, take care. Xx

Hi Angela. I always think it's funny when we know someone with the same name as one of the storms!!! It's hard to say whether I prefer knitting or crocheting toys... each has its merits! Hi Georgina. It's lovely to hear that you've made Hazel the squirrel and now working on Mouche! Aren't Cinthia's patterns just brilliant? For the Cabin girl doll the yarn was Toft DK. I had another Toft doll kit a while ago which was for a much smaller doll, but Cabin girl is about the same size as the ones in the Toft doll book. xx💕

I had to do Charlie's hair the same way as you did Meg's. You can say her hairstyle has been undercut rather than you ran out of yarn. When you were showing how you crocheted her fingers I was admiring your mitred square blanket. I'm going to make one in December from my advent minis. Is yours made out of 4ply or dk. Also what pattern did you use. It looks very nice. Loved the tree through the year idea. X

I did wonder if Charlie's hair would be made in the same way. Good idea - I shall definitely say that Meg's hair has been undercut! 😂 My mitred-square blanket is made from left-over sock yarn and I used a free pattern - I will try to find which one I used and get back to you! It was fascinating to see all of the tree photos merged together! Thank you Anita xx

Your outfit for dear Florance is so right for her👍 The cabin dolls are lovely and their boots, just the thing! Helen, the tree montage was beautiful to watch closely. Tell your son his work was appreciated. As for the music.... I found your piano pieces first and was thrilled. Advent and Christmas memories came back: What a time that was! Anytime the mood for piano takes you, I'm there! I read with your playing in the background - marvelously relaxing. Thank you.❤💐

Thank you, Helen! I will pass on your thanks to my son - I was so pleased with the way he merged all of my tree photos! And I'm glad that you enjoyed the piano music, too. xx💕🎹
