I love the passiveness Jacob chose in saying “You will not last long.” At 2:31:20. We’re so used to loud declamatory remarks from villains but this, coupled with the wind-like voice, truly sets the tone of Auril.

Slight spoilers for Craig being amazing (no disrespect to the others, I’m sure I’ll have appreciation comments for all of them soon enough, but for now it’s just Colton and Craig so far): Man, Lazarus’ “I am at the bottom” monologue last session paired with them facing away from the sun’s reemergence so that they and Sildri can witness it together, Craig has repeatedly shown himself to be a powerhouse roleplayer throughout this campaign. Dream player, that lad.

I'm personally really liking Arcane Arcade's Icewind Dale campaign. There's a great integration of the characters into this campaign. The twists and turns that Jacob is doing, I think, are great. Regardless of how the end of this campaign turns out, I'm looking forward to the journey to get there.

god i loved running the black cabin in my game. did it through roll20 and discord so whichever players lived i had them mute the dead ones. so the dead characters could hear the live ones but not vice versa

Mounted combat is kind of finnicky in 5e. In general, what happens is based on how intelligent the creature you're riding is. If it's not sapient, like a horse or elephant, then its initiative matches the creature riding it, it acts at the same time, but can only take the Dash, Disengage, or Dodge actions. If it thinks for itself, like a dragon or awakened whale, it acts on its own initiative, but can take any action as normal.

I ran this with my group last Sunday, one of them grabbed the summer star while 3 others were in 10ft. 3 failed the save and disintegrated, one made it and was downed lol. It was crazy.

I had to take multiple breaks throughout this episode. The gain on, what I believe to be, Colton's mic was super high. Picking up a lot of extra noises that were a bit rough to endure throughout the session. Icewind Dale is by far my favourite online campaign I follow at the moment, though! Absolutely love all the characters and it has been an amazing step up in quality after I stopped watching Ghosts of Saltmarsh. I will one day finish it, though! Just need to be less restless to get through that campaign as it feels a lot slower and less epic compared to this and the Curse of Strahd campaign.
