This story of Flux is jaw dropping, someone who gets himself caught up in all sorts of dark and dangerous addictions/activities. This interview gets very dark and respect to MC Flux for opening up and talking openly & honestly about his life journey. I was just expecting talk about the rave scene but this podcast talks about his split persona, the “Dirty 30 crew” and drug addiction to name a few. It’s nice to hear that MC Flex is still going strong but more importantly he’s turned his life around. Great example to others who find themselves in a dark place. It made me think back to the rave scene & culture in the 90s. It was great, that’s for sure but it definitely did have a darker side that mostly involved massive temptations with drugs. like most ravers in the 90s I did see friends get addicted to harder drugs like heroin and the affects were devastating. So sad 😞

Amazing story. I really hope a film producer is taking note of some of these stories, they should be films! Congrats on another top class episode and also the British Library archiving. Well deserved!

What a fantastic insight into how some of the artists at this time were rolling. As a raver during this period, I remember attending these raves and perceiving these events from a different angle. It's fascinating to hear what was going on behind the scenes. Big up Tom.

Absolutely amazing interview, really honest & in depth with no holds barred. & loved the fact that Flux says it makes no sense about becoming a heroin addict, it doesn’t but at the time it does it’s completely mental I’ve known people who have been addicts and they have said the same thing. Loving these interviews thank you guys for the amazing content.

This is the comment from Pete Nice who wrote the book: Part 2 of the MC Flux interview he could have gone another 4 or 5 hours to tell his tale. In the foreword in his book I wrote......Think what you want of him and judge him as most people do and will continue to do once they read the book. All I would say is remember this - much as he has been a pain in the arse, he has had a lot of struggles and issues to cope with and he may still continue to make the same mistakes. To me he is one of the most stand up people you could ever meet and if shit was going down, he’s definitely someone you would want in your corner. He’s also a very funny guy and I’m proud to have him as a friend. It has been great recollecting many of the memories of how we used to be. He’ll always be the same old Flux in my eyes, full of ups and downs and dramas, but more than this, he’ll always be my brother. This is his story.

Thanks Tom for another great interview. First heard Flux on a Zinc/Randall mixtape from Innovation live on KISS FM.His voice totally suited the darker 90s hardstep/techstep sound. Whats the best way to keep up to date with ROAR if not on social media?
