Yet another excellent vid tutorial. High level of fair driving seen also but then again mindful we're seeing experienced racers. This one bookmarked also. Cheers.

Nice driving and nice explanation! Just picked up PC2 after getting a Valve Index. :) Great experience! Mostly been racing AC/ACC up to now.

Great Video. Thanks. Maybe it would help to see, how to NOT overtake. Some bad situations, like DiveBombs for example and how to avoid them. ;) Keep going, your vids are very helpful. Thank you!
@Yorkie0656 жыл бұрын
This was probably going to be in a later video with more advanced stuff. Generally though, if it feels like it could be a bad situation in order to make an overtake, it's best to just not go for it and take the racing line, or a line that will give you the best chances of surviving the situation. As for Divebombs, they're something again for the advanced stuff.

It would be really cool if you could do some track guides. Talk about breaking point and bigginer stuff but also little tips for average players looking to improve their lap time a little, cheers

Check out Episode 5 of the series, where look at learning new tracks. Doing them for individual circuits leads down the route of having to do a track guide for every circuit in the game lol

Yorkie065 I appreciate that. The problem I'm having is getting my lap times just a second better to be competitive in qualifying. For example at Monza I can get a 1:49.0 to1:49.5 but can't get into the 1:48 range. I guess I'll just have to keep pulling my hair out till I improve lol

Loving the series and taking plenty of tips from the video. Just a thought could you do a video on the start as in how to get a good start first corner and first lap situations to keep or even make up places without becoming a tangled mess
@Yorkie0656 жыл бұрын
Yup, that is something that is planned for a future episode.

Great stuff as ever Yorkie. When you get stuck behind a group of 4 fighting it out (like in your opening example), what are your options? Clearly joining the fight doesn't help, and slip-streaming them still leaves you losing time. Is there anything else you can do other than pit (if appropriate timing) or knocking the fuel mix down (if appropriate)?
@Yorkie0656 жыл бұрын
Yeah there isn't many options in that specific scenario. Sometimes it is best to just accept that in this situation you are going to lose time to others, and pick the safest way through. In this case, my plan was going to be trying to pick my way through the drivers one by one in any obvious opportunities. Usually in this scenario where drivers are battling, someone is going to lose out in a corner and not have the momentum coming off it. If you're on the racing line and read the situation right as it unfolds, you could set yourself up to pick up the pieces and gain a place from it and work through that way until you're the second car in the train, where you can switch to actual overtaking tactics to get to the front and then run your pace to break away. You can do it working through the train too, but it depends on your pace relative to those around you. The bigger the disparity and faster you are compared to them, the easier it will be to work through 1 by 1 with actual overtakes, but it is important to take your time with it and avoid getting into a situation where you're squabbling corner after corner or a situation that can result in contact. Leave that stuff to the others around you and you'll find that you may not actually have to make any overtaking moves to work through the group, and find yourself passing them all as they all make mistakes, spin, or make contact with each other. So if it's not a pit window, and you're stuck in that situation, take your time and work through the cars 1 by 1. The most important thing is to come out the other side of it with no damage on the car and without punting one of the others off. Would rather do it that way so can then work on closing the gap to the next guy, than try and force through taking a couple of bumps and knocks, have damage by the time I get to the front and then not have the pace to work the gap down on the next guy. Or worse still, have a clash trying to get through and spinning and losing more positions. All risk vs reward.

I've got a whole bunch of races from this (half way through) and last season where I was competing, just don't at the moment have the time to get into them and start commentating them. I do hope to at some point though.
